I really think the Cardinals have a legit shot at winning out & saving Green's job. Seattle has real problems on D. Not only will we beat them, but we will beat them badly. Denver will having growing problems with Cutler. San Diego won't play anyone in the finale. The toughest game will be vs the 49ers. The thought of Green being around another year almost nauseates me, buit it just might happen. We may finish like we did in '93 under Bugel. Bidwill still regrets firing Bugel, so he'll retain Green if it happens again.

I just want us to compete the rest of the year. The last three weeks have shown a big improvement, and next week will really tell the tale. If we compete there will be a tough decision. Do we want to see what we can do next year with this coaching staff, or do we want to start over again. If we keep playing well; it would be a tough decision, on what I would want the organization to do, for me personally.

I seriously doubt we win out but Green is already gone in my opinion. This season was a disaster.

I think PA Cards fan is right --

set aside how likely it is that the Cards run the table and finish 7-9 --

if they did it, do you replace your coach? I dont think you do (and BTW, I am by no means a Green fan at this point)

A 7-9 finish means they played the second half of the year at 6-2 with a rookie QB -- I think that not only brings Denny back, but gives him a one year extension.

I think thats wrong. 7-9 is a crap season. Just finishing strong when it doesnt count is nice but the coaching staff still failed.

Green failed to fix that line in 3 years. Green Continued to start guys that flat out sucked(Step, Ross, Warner). Green failed to make game time adjustments and give his team a chance to win. Green blew the Bears game telling the OC to play for FG's. He is a pretty good judge of talent, but a good coach he is not.

I wouldnt mind the Bidwills keeping Green on as a GM for his last year, since they have to pay him anyway. But he needs to be out as HC.

So, if he's the GM, as you'd like him to be, Green then gets to hire the new HC...is that a wise move?

I go back and forth on DG.There is no doubt the team had badly underachieved this year. But, when you look at what he had to start with and where the Cards are now, talentwise, it's night and day.It takes time for a saytem and player changeover to kick in. There are arguments both ways. You have teams like Seattle, STL(Vermeil), SD, even Cowher in Pitts that were on the verge of firing their coach and then the next year everything came into place and they became very good teams. Then you see teams this year like NO and the Jets that have turned it around right away under a new coach. THere's a chance you take either way. The cards are in a difficult situation because, for the most part, the pieces are in place. Do you let Green finish the job? If so you're risking being in the same boat as you are this year next year. Or do you bring in a new guy that could take to a new level? If you go that way you are risking having to start all over again and who knows how that will go.

I didnt say I would LIKE him to be the GM, but it is hard to argue he has improved the talent level on this team.

You have a good point about the new HC. There is no way Green should be allowed to hire his replacment.

We are two and two after the halfway mark, IMO if he finishes up 5-3 or better the last half of the season you do NOT extend him you lame duck him all or nothing next year.

He makes the playoffs next year he gets a 3 year extension and a raise if not he's toast, that's totally generous too because from my viewpoint I don't have a very high opinion of the guy.

The problem is change isn't always for the better, it's his players and his system, I say tell him to finish up strong and you'll see.

That's the exact situation we were in during Bugel's last season. We finished well, and our offense was in the top 5 of the league. Bidwill had set an 8-8 ultimatum earlier in the year. So, after letting Bugel and the fans twist for almost two weeks after the season was over, Bugel was fired and Buddy Ryan was hired.

Clearly, that was the wrong move at the time. They should've stayed the course. Buddy ripped apart the offense, but built a decent defense the next season. Year two, it all went to crap.

Denver will having growing problems with Cutler.
All other sorta outlanish scenarios aside, I don't think we'll beat the broncos.

They're probably not going to beat SD next week, meaning they're coming into AZ on a 4(?) game skid. Cutler should start getting his sea-legs under him by then and the defense is going to be p.o.'d.

Makes sense, conrad.

I believe the Cardinals greatest obstacle since, well since moving to Arizona has been inconsistency. They have constantly been changing HC's OC's, QB's and OL's among other things.

Here's a quote from today's EV Tribune:
"The changes have been exhausting in less than four seasons. Boldin has played for two head coaches already and likely will get a third next year. He has had three wide receivers coaches, four offensive coordinators and six different starting quarterbacks.

If the Cardinals finish strong, I think the front office will need to re-evaluate and stongly consider keeping Denny for another season, hope that the elusive objective of consistency is obtained and let it play out for another year.

I don't know.

The Bronco's are a 7-5 team that is struggling right now.

The Donkeys are 4-2 on the road this year. However since early Nov., when they beat a struggling Pittsburgh team by eleven points, 31-20, they have just gotten by Oakland 17-13 and lost to Kansas City 10-19.

They have a rookie QB who will be starting his third game, probably with his confidence shaken after getting beat up by San Diego.

I think the game at the Nest is one that the Cardinal's can take!

The Cardinals can beat anyone at home. The only team that beat us easily at home was Dallas, and they are the best team in the NFC right now. The Cardinals could easily run the table or they could lose all of them. That's why they're the Cardinals. If the Cardinals win 6 games, Denny will be back. Take it to the bank.

Denny might be back but the fans may not come back with him.

If they win Green will be back. It's easier for the Bidwills to justify showing Green the door and tossing the $2mil that they would have to pay them if they finished 2-14. It's harder to justify that when they finish the year 6-2(with the tougher portion on the schedule). I just have a bad feeling that after week 17 we will not have seen the last of Dennis Green on the Card's sideline......

If they would end up 7-9 the fans could be back, but not Denny. You have to extend him or lose him. I'm on the lose him side. Don't bring in a guy to fix are lineup, bring him in to coach. Add a lineman here a corner there stir and simmer.
