7 El Paso boys and girls high school basketball players earn 2025 All-State honors

Seven El Paso high school basketball players have been named All-State for the 2024-25 season by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and the Texas Girls Coaches Association respectively.

Girls​

  • Burges guard Danae Gonzalez was named All-State in Class 5A by the TGCA. She was also named All-Region by the TABC.
  • Americas guard Kylie Marquez was named All-State in Class 5A by the TGCA. She was also named All-Region by the TABC.
  • Pebble Hills guard Jordan Sapien was named All-State in Class 6A by the TGCA. She is a three-time All-State selection.
  • Franklin guard Allison DeLaO was named All-State in Class 6A by the TGCA. As a freshman, she helped the Cougars to a bidistrict playoff win.
  • Eastwood guard Abigail Ortega was named All-State in Class 6A by the TGCA. She helped the Troopers to a bidistrict playoff win and a second-place finish in District 1-6A.

Boys​

  • Chapin senior center Jayden Leverett earned All-State in Class 5A by the TABC. He was also named to the TABC All-Region team after averaging 19 points per game and leading the Chapins to three playoff wins. He will attend Vanderbilt University next season on a basketball scholarship.
  • Ysleta senior guard Azaiah Thompson was named to the Class 4A All-State team by the TABC. He also earned TABC All-Region honors and passed the 2,400 point mark for his high school career this past season.
