If we trade Gortat plus Dudley for Turner and Hawes (who is a young 24 yea old center with potential) would you say ok?

No Hawes is overrated and at 6.5 next year cuts our cap space even more and we have a worse team with out Gortat & Dudley. The 76rs need to move some players since they will be way over the cap if they resign Bynum and Nick Young.

The only way I see Turner being traded is if the other team takes back Outlaw, Hawes and/or Richardson. That doesn't fit what the Suns are planning to do right now.

I think his upside is something like the 06'-07' thru 09'-10' Andre Iguodala. Who was averaging about 18 PPG, 6 REB and 5 ASST on 45-47% shooting.

How good a defender is Turner?
His shooting stats look middling for a SG - weakish FG%, but strongish 3PT%. Less than average FTA and scoring meaning he doesn't attack much. As someone noted good REB and very good AST. 82games.com data doesn't suggest a strong defender - nor a wimp, but that's not a lot to go on.

Iguodala might be a good offensive comparison but Iggy could defend.

I can't see any reason that the Suns would pass on Gortat for Turner. Gortat is guaranteed to be gone by the time the Suns are relevant again, and doesn't seem to be part of the solution in the meantime. Turner's a long shot but at least a possibility to be a good player down the road.

Yep. We know what we have for Gortat, and it's nothing I'd want to commit to long term. I fully anticipate us not getting anything near Turner in terms of value for Gortat.
