The only time Whiz runs a semi-balanced offense is when we are sticking a new QB in there and Whiz comprehends it well. After 2 or 3 weeks, he sends the opposing team's defense right at him, all game long. No time run, no time to waste, no time of possession. More shotguns than the NRA.

SF's run defense was ranked no. 1 or 2 going into that game. When that happens, sometimes you take what the defense appears to be giving you.

That plus only possessing the ball for something like 15:15 out of 60:00 minutes.

I can see game planning against a teams strengths going into the game but when you see that the opponent is doing something completely different you have to adjust.
