I'm not one to call for a perma-ban, but should Shaggy have to monitor one of our members every single week for breaking the rules? Just think that Dawg needs to lay off the sauce or at least our fans from here on out.

Yes. I don't mind Dawg's posts, but I also am not in charge of the freaking website. I don't have to clean up the mess so it is easy for me to be tolerant.

Shaggy, this is your decision as well as the mods. I don't like perma-bans either, so I selfishly hope you don't make that choice. Either way, the board will go on. I do think it would be cool to lift the perma-bans and see who comes back. All this winning is making this board soft.

Back on topic, I am sure based on the conversations that dawg would not fight against banning himself from the board once the games are over until the following day so that he can remain a member but you will have to talk to him about it.

The thing with Dawg is he is genuinely one of the nicest people you will know. I think football is the only time he becomes hypercompetitive and maybe a lot comes out that shouldn't because he is so nice the rest of the time.

But what do I know, I've only hung with the guy once.

Putting him on banned status at set times wouldn't take that much monitoring. Would it? (I'm assuming it takes a couple of click to ban someone and a couple of clicks to un-ban them. I'm no expert on how that works.)

I'm not condoning what Dawg did. Just trying to find a solution and adding my two cents.

the common variables here for you ol' pal dawg are that he acts out against many here INCLUDING the authority. ( ill agree with you there)

its completely up to those in charge if they want to keep a malcontent like him around or not. I would probably cut him loose just because I feel like he constantly provokes people. I mean--- he literally started a thread about eating crow and became vulgar even AFTER those people admitted to be wrong. That's not a passionate fan....but simply, a jerk. I don't think the fact that a few people here "think he's a great guy" really matters.

I really enjoy most of Dawgs posts. He does go over the top at times and with seemingly little provocation. A switch flips and he goes nuclear. I'm with Dems and Chopper that I hope he doesn't get perma banned.

We are not paid, we do this out of our love for the board and AZ sports in general. We are not here to babysit anyone, and although it has not been discussed, I can just about guarantee we will not be getting into the business of putting temp bans on those that cannot abide by the rules. They're very clear, and questioning the fandom of another is amongst the VERY top rules that MUST be followed. We simply will not tolerate that sort of behavior, and DD is just flagrant in his abuse of it.

The other rule at the top is no swearing. It's been a family-friendly board from inception, and that is the other rule DD can't seem to abide.

I'm going to recommend closing this thread, as questioning mods is also against the rules, and while not directly doing so, this is tip-toeing that line. Last comment I have on this is that I have personally defended DD but it's not just getting old, it IS old, and won't be tolerated much longer.
