Could you make a case that Hump has been our best player overall this season?

Eh. Dude has played out of his mind...he is certainly the most improved player. (Reddick is right there as well).

K1 and Nuk are clearly the best players.

K1 is having a historic year for a QB (in year 2).

He also had the protection schemes entirely focused on him in those 4 games.

Let's not be like Houston.

he also has a game that should age well. He’s not a freak athlete that depends on athleticism. He has super long arms and that best hands in football he wins with technique

I find it so weird so many are ready to give up on Jones while still wanting to franchise or extend PP who is nowhere close to even being good, his play has been descending for three years now and just shows time after time he doesn’t care what’s going on the field unless he’s directly involved in defending a pass.

I would also point out that Jones was still doing a good job of pressuring the QB in those 4 games. Yes he wasn't finishing off with sacks, but his pressure and QB hit numbers were still looking solid.

Come on now. Wonder why all his teammates seem to love him if he’s such a quitter. That’s just odd

It's time to move on from PP, Larry and Jones. That's some serious money.

PP I'm good completely moving on from. Larry I'd love to see come back at 5 million per (not a penny more) and I'm okay with getting one more year out of Jones next year because next year should be the serious run at the Super Bowl.

Won't other teams be in the same boat?

I could see a lot of one-year deals waiting to see if full attendance is allowed in 2021 so the cap can go back up for 2022
Maybe but if they do one year contracts it's all on next year's cap. You do 2 or 3 year deals you can push money to the later years. As I have been saying it will take some creative cap management but you can go after anyone you might want. We're in better shape than most.

Or one of many runs.

Here is what I saw on Sunday.

Kyler Murray had an amazing yet frustrating performance. He really struggled for a period but bounced back and put the game away.

Deandre Hopkins was unstoppable.

DJ Humphries seemed to be the one stable piece on the line.

Reddick had a very impressive game despite his issues in coverage.

Gardeck showed out in his limited role.

Simmons looked good despite some mistakes and played 76% of snaps.

Byron Murphy broke up 3 passes and all seemed to be in key moments.

Nice to see our younger players who are under contract for next year (except Reddick but I am guessing he is getting a deal) stepping up in big moments. Peterson looked bad. Same with Kirkpatrick. Drake looked banged up. Beachum and Sweezy washed as well.
Simmons was just a tad late on several plays. He was supposed to stop that screen pass that went for a TD.

Kirkpatrick was given a talking to by VJ after he slipped & fell on that one play for a big gain.

Byron Murphy sucks at times in coverage but he had 3 big time batted passes Sunday. He deserves a game ball imo.

Hate to say it but PP21 is washed up as a #1 corner. Most QB's don't even throw his way but Hurts saw on film what we see every Sunday. He challenged him all day long because he knows he's a step slower now.

Agreed. There is a reason you see guys like Justin Houston still in the league. Let's not move off Chandler Jones just yet. His game translates well to getting older.
