This one smarts, not just because we lost to a divisional opponent, but by the manner in which we lost. After believing in the Mantra, Cardinals will not cause Cardinals to lose, they did just that, (caused themselves a smarting loss at home against a bitter rival).

It began when the opening kickoff was fumbled away to give the Rams an early lead, and never after that, did the Cards take control of the game. There were opportunities a plenty to do so, but the confidence switch just never seemed to get turned on for the Red Birds from the Desert.

To be sure, there will be those who cry foul that the officials took the game from them, but every Cardinals player will tell you that they failed to capitalize time after time after time today, and never really played smart during the whole game. The whole game seemed to be about trying to do something spectacular, and failing to do simply what was necessary to play their own game. The whole day seemed to be spent playing the Rams kind of football instead of their own.

Perhaps it is well that this game is only one quarter way into the season. There is ample time to learn from today as we begin to play an extended number of primarily road games. We still hold on to the division lead, so not everything is lost at this point. This could well prove to be a great lesson for the guys who wear red. It wasn't so much that we made constant mistakes, but that the ones we did make were 'glaring' and extremely costly, both in terms of field position, and in player's abilities to find their comfort zone and play under control the entire game. It seemed like each glaring mistake was cause for still more scrambling around to make the huge play, instead of just taking control of emotions and the game itself. There is much that can be learned from this.

Cards are going to be the laughing stock of the NFL this week. Everyone will now be saying they just looked good due to the fact they played 3 bad teams. Not what I was hoping to read/hear all this week. :(

Good. Cards need a full plate of humble pie his week. Id rather they fly under the radar anyways.

17 to 12. 3rd down in their red zone and we throw it.... Ggrrrr

DJ's dumble to start the game set the tone.

The fumble that was not a fumble was ridiculous.

Tough game to watch.

Did it to ourselves. Had many opportunities to win this game and couldn't make it work. Really sad to see the D lay down on the last drive of the game.

We clearly didn't play our best game & hurt ourselves a lot. The Rams played good D in the red zone, but we moved the ball on them all day long (447 yards). Most of our drive stopping plays were dropped passes & not the Rams making great defensive plays.

I personally would love to see how this game would've turned out if the refs had taken their heads out of their asses & actually thrown some flags on the Rams & reviewed either of those fumbles. We recovered both of those fumbles on replay... 3 Cards jumped on the 1st one & the ball was ripped out in the pile. The 2nd was an obvious fumble & complete BS that they claimed they blew the play dead. Instead we had to go 55-60 yards after the punt instead of 1st & goal at the 8 yard line (roughly), which chewed up a lot more clock.

This game is a clear example of why I carry the Vince Lombardi quote in my Sig .
We were clearly that One Team That Lost the Game .

I think the way they were playing in the red zone, they would have just ended up getting another FG. :D

Thanks Catfish...you saved me a lot of writing. Perfect game to humble the team. Early in the season and we won't be in the media as much. Back to the grind for the Cards. I wouldn't want to be the Lions next week.

Goooooo Cardssssss!!!!!
