It's valid. Dude has trouble staying healthy.

Especially considering its both of his kness we are talking about.

I'm not saying it's not a concern. Kendall is--what--0 for 4 on completing seasons? KVB is 1-3 on making it through 16 games. Fisher is 1-1. Explain to me where Fisher's production dropped off over the season because of "nagging injuries" (which is what my critique for Marcel is).

Fisher will be ready to play starting tomorrow. I'm not saying that injuries aren't a concern, but I think that saying "Injuries have really limited his career" is a little extreme.

I can't believe that they would cut Ronnie Mac. He's the leader of our defense and one of the best players on it. If anyone goes i think it is Bryant.

Edit
But I also thought Kendell was one of our better OLineman so I may be proven wrong.

When Dennis Green looks at tapes there isn't much to go off of. He hasn't been able to practice during the Green era so that has also limited him. I'm a big fan of Fisher but I'm trying to figure out what Green might do.

Nope......the cupboard is pretty bare for DT's on this team. Bryant gets one more year.
I agree, there is no way we cut another DT unless we all of a sudden pick one up. I believe Green leaked this to MJ to put a little fear in the LBs and DTs after the Kendall move. If it is someone it will be a LB.

why don't we just cut the whole team? This is starting to look like a rebuilding purge....unless we bring in some other FA's...

"starting to look like a rebuilding purge" . . . what the hell else did you think was gonna happen?!?

On the offensive side of the ball........you can kiss goodbye to Hodgins. He's definitely an FB in a style warp from Green's system. But as opposed to cutting him outright, I'd try and get something for him.

why does everyone here think our players have value to other teams? no one is trading for hodgins. likewise, i don't think we could have gotten anything for kendall. a sixth or seventh rounder at best. so why not release the old dude and let him play for a team of HIS choosing?

i say prolly bryant, but i wish it was ronnie mac. love the old guy, but his motor is shot.

Maybe one of the LB's or DT's that will be cut is one of the vets, that told on Green. If some one were to say Kendalll was going to be cut, we would have told you that your smoking crack. So it really could be anyone who is cut. My guess is Ronald McKinnon or Russell Davis

It seems like the Cardinals always release players instead of trading them for future draft picks. The last time we traded someone for draft picks I believe it was Williams to the Rams for two picks. For some reason our players have no trade value with other teams.

James Darling is still on the roster. Why does no one think that it's going to be him. Is there a player (besides maybe Hodgins) who has less value?

Let's not forget that this tidbit of info came "from a veteran player" and not from the horse's mouth (i.e. Denny).

So maybe MJ's got it right. But maybe he doesn't.

One thing I'd love to know is - Is Denny getting rid of players because -

- of lack of talent?

- he wants to improve "team chemistry?

- he wants to create cap room to sign a quality corner, veteran backup QB etc.

My forecast - If he cuts another veteran early, it will be someone that never crossed your mind.

I'm with you. Darling is making a pretty decent amount of cash and was basically worthless last year. Another name we should throw out there is Ray Thompson. Personally, I don't think we should be cutting any of our starting LBs until Dansby is in camp and shows what he can do.

I thought about Raynoch. I don't know. I think that generally you'd want to wait at least a year before cutting him, just because you don't want to bear the salary cap implications. I'm not Ray-ray's biggest fan, but I'm fine keeping him on the roster--until Karlos Dansby outplays him for the starting job.

If the Cards really are looking at moving LB Gerald Hayes to the middle, either McKinnon or Darling are expendable. Darling may have a little more value. If Hayes is going to stay on the strong side, then it may be Fisher--but I don't see it.

Where the heck do you think a quality corner is to be had at this time of year.

nidan,

Have you been hiding somewhere........Mike McKenzie (GB) could be had if someone wanted to ante up......he is done in GB.

Doubt if it's a DT.

Davis and Bryant supposedly looked good today.....especially Bryant.

I say a LBer.....could be any of em....except Dansby and Hayes.

Providing you are willing take out a massive mortgage. My understand is that GB want a ton for him (in terms of picks).

So, ok, were we willing pay an outrageous price for him we could get him, but then next year you would be bitching about where had all our picks gone.

If they cut him, sure but for all practical purposes he is not available right now

It won't be McKinnon or Bryant. Green likes them both. More likely the LB from the Jets last year, name escapes me.

Speaking of LBS, Right to left, Ray Thompson, McKinnon, and Gerald Hayes look very good in this scheme.

Becuase it actually plays to there strengths. It looks as if we designed a defense around our players rather then designing our players around the scheme.
