I realize the Pro Bowl is not known for its decleating hits, but what was the deal with A-Dub?

When the NFC was on defense - like many Cardinal fans, I zero'd in on Adrian Wilson. Maybe it was the defensive scheme (Reid put him in "center field"; preferring to let Dawkins operate at SS), but I never saw Adrian tackle anyone and, in fact, saw him barely jogging in pursuit - arriving late to "watch someone else tackle" on a majority of plays.

Maybe that was his role - to prevent plays from getting behind him - or perhaps he was protecting an injury. All I know is that the NFC could have put a "cardboard cutout" of a football player out there and it would have been equally as productive.

I understand the "unimportant" nature of the Pro Bowl, but it seems to me that, if you are unable or unwilling to play at a higher level of energy, then let someone else more able and willing come in to do the job).

Like I said, maybe there were extenuating circumstances (and we certainly don't need any more controversy right now) but it goes against the fundamental tenet of "playing hard all the time" and, as such, I found it somewhat disturbing.

the Pro Bowl is like the NBA all star game--

only half hearted attempts at defense

lighten up Jeff -- it was an exhibition game

Maybe he decided to tone it down after:

A. Having just played a physical game the week before.

B. Almost killing Chad Johnson in the last pro bowl

Heard he's pissed and feels slighted by the Cards... Not sure the relationship can be repaired... Reports say he's been hanging with Q for the most part...

Q didn't look good. I thought he's play with some fire in his belly, but in the first half alone he dropped a couple of passes he normally would reel in.

I wonder if Q has really fully recovered from his injury? Just hasn't been the same player since that game imo.

No matter what else, this offseason will do Boldin's body a world of good.

Blitzing is not allowed in the Pro Bowl. That is half of AWs game. If he can't play in the fox hole and disguise himself, his skills diminish a bit.

Maybe he's played four more games in the last month than most of the others in the Pro Bowl? Could be a little tired? Plus travelling from the East Coast to Hawaii has got to add a little jet leg to the mix.

They can't all be like Fitz....

Eh, the Pro bowls a joke anyway.
I think I was 14 the last time I turned it on.

If I'm in the mood to watch halfhearted defense, I'll watch the NBA. :D

The probowl is about offense. Big hits are seen as unfair to be messin guys up in a "fun" game. Ala Sean Taylor's hit on that punter.

There were alot of players on defense just walking around and going through the motions. Watch the statue of liberty play when the AFC scored.

I'm glad he didn't try. The Pro Bowl is stupid and it would've been tragic had he gotten hurt.
