I just saw a tweet from MJ wherein he lauds A-Dub for his insights on the team and his thoughts about the FAs and current player contracts.

Did anyone hear this interview? if so, could you post what A-Dub had to say?

Much obliged if you do. Thank you!

nothing groundbreaking. Adub is a sharp guy and I always enjoy his interviews. He said the bad tackling at the end of the season came from guys being worn down. Also they quit to a degree (also out of fatigue) at the end of the year. The Offenses inability to sustain drives all year added up at the end and they were just plain tired. Makes sense

Thank you, Bodha. MJ tweeted that A-Dub had insight into the contract discussions or speculations. Did you hear anything about those?

I agree, especially with Foote. He was allover the place earlier in the year and you could see how he'd worn down towards the end.

Wonder if a certain poster (D-Dogg) would feel compelled to counter what ADub is saying??? Hmmmmmm... [emoji1]

Makes total sense. 3 and outs don't just wear on your D during games and the 4th quarter, but you're playing more and getting beat up for game after game until it stacks and at the end of the year you're just dog tired.

Our punting didn't help. Punting is part of the defense, not part of the offense. And Butler hamstrung those guys far too often. Couple that with bad offense and it's doom city.

MJ said the interview is loaded on the Fox 910 site after 7pm. Haven't looked for it yet but if anyone has could you share the link.

Yep and we all saw it. Losing Palmer for good was an upper cut. Losing Stanton for good was a kick in the nuts.

The D was mentally gassed in the ATL game. I think the @STL game gave them a slight shot of still maybe believing, but then the home SEA game happened and reality set in.

They are human.

Palmer's injury was a massive blow that the team was in the process of recovering from.

Stanton's injury with no magical miracle coming off the bench meant essentially the end of hope.

I guess you could argue they are professionals and all and in a nice way AW is saying essentially that they were tired not that they quit, I think it was they were mentally checked out and rightfully so IMO.

Nope. Bunch of whiny nonsense from my favorite player, but still a bunch of whiny garbage. To go from the rams game to the debacle they put out there in back to back weeks after 10 days of rest is not "worn down." Especially when they performed their absolute WORST in the series directly after the offense put up scores after drives.

I love Dub, but he's just giving excuses for why his boys quit.

:p

What do you attribute it to then? Same players, all year. I personally thought they got exposed somehow. You're just saying they suck or quit.

I thought they were exposed too. At the Seattle game I attended and watching the Panthers, it just seemed like they only had 9 or 10 men on the field. Couldn't get to their spots quickly enough, a half step behind, running in quicksand.

Some people say they got tired, but I think we got exposed somehow, schemewise.

That being said, our tackling the last four games was wicked bad. Atrocious.

They got exposed, made serious mental errors and quit on plays. Their technique was terrible and they got beat, primarily, by failing to contain their gaps and trying to make big plays. QBs running all over us was embarrassing.

Not having Foote was very, very costly - he was the only good LB we had. His absence only showcased the thin thread by which we were hanging in there.

Sure, they were tired. So what? That's not an excuse for losing games, quitting, blowing coverage, failing to get on and off the field in time, mental errors, or overpursuit.

Add to that bad offense and poor field position due to terrible, awful special teams play.

They were a very overachieving group, no doubt about it. But their weaknesses were exposed, and then consistently exposed without Foote.

I blame the new strength and conditioning coach - if John Lott were still here, he would have had their mind right.

I have trouble blaming this D when our offense was so pathetic. Even Treat Dilfer, probably the worst SB winning QB ever, even he was able to move chains and throw TDs. All our guys did was go 3 and out. Wasn't just Lindley either, Stanton went 3 and out alot.

Difference between Palmer and all that is completion percentage. He can move chains, even if it doesn't amount to points. Move the chains and time of possession. That's how you win games with a good/great D. We couldn't so that.

thinks Dwash gets nmew deal with mopney in back instead of in front. Escalators and such. keep him motivated and dont pay him for screwing up.

Thinks fitz takes paycut and stays in AZ. Makes a lot of money off of UoP sponsor and etc, wont make as much elsewhere. Thinks larry juggling career (better off here) vs legacy (who knows where better off).

its a VERY good podcast, recommend you listen.

Also talks about taking a hometown paycut and getting cut the next year.

I don't "blame" them, I just don't excuse them on the occasions where they shat the bed. The two games I am most frustrated with them were the home seattle game and the road niners game. I don't have an issue with the playoff game as I feel they were the only thing carrying us, they got jobbed on the long TD run with several uncalled penalties, and held their own with impotent offense and ludicrous special teams play. But they were getting to Cam, making plays on the ball and not making (many) mental errors. Hell, and almost had the team in a position to win in the end.

Very different from the Seahawks and Niners games...very different. Those two games it just seemed the effort and mental approach was off, badly. And in the niner game, they had offensive support. Tired is an "excuse." They weren't tired in those games, as shown in the playoff game where they played much, much more aware. They simply allowed being tired to affect their mental and physical execution. They did not do that in the playoffs.

You know I love ya Dogg... but I couldn't disagree more with you. ADub was never about "making excuses"... perhaps, more than any other Cardinal in the history of this franchise, Wilson was the standard-bearer for toughness and accountability.
Now, you think he's making excuses?? Seriously?
Sorry brother... You have a position and come hell or high water, you are going to remain firm on that position, even when one of the most respected players to ever wear the red & white clearly points out the fallacy of your position...

Hell, even that player said they gave up, because tired, of course, but still said they gave up.

My position is infallible. :p
