Yep..... Die Hard 5 is coming out next year.

Well, I enjoyed 1, 2 and 4, so hopefully this one will be in the vein of those 3. Apparently McClane and his son kick some Russian arse.

I thought this might be about a sequel to Flatliners.

I gotta admit I liked all of them, too. I really like Bruce Willis.

Don't get the impression they think the audience cares whether it's believable or not.

After reading all the horrible reviews by the movie "critics", I was pleasantly surprised to find this a very entertaining movie. Action packed, a few laughs, but no it wasn't an all time great, and I am sure that people will find faults in it. But we had a pretty good time and it was great to see Bruce Willis crank out another John Mclain appearance.

Yep

I think you are missing the one where he had to stand naked in the ghetto with the racial slur sign around his neck

FWIW, the critics gave it a rotten tomato (15%), but 82% of viewers liked it.

I don't like critics, but I do like John McClane..... :D

I'm going to try to get down to Phoenix tomorrow or Sunday and see this.

This movie seems to ooze with the same flaws and problems they all have had since the 3rd film. You can't have a standard action movie, stick Bruce Willis in it, have him say a few catchphrases and call it a Die Hard movie. The genius of the first movie (and to a lesser extent the second) was not only the wisecracks and comedy, but it was the impossible situation in a small space. The fact that the whole first movie takes place in a skyscraper (and the second in an airport) gives it a sense of urgency that was NEVER duplicated in later efforts. That, to me, is what a Die Hard movie is--not these lame action movies with the same character spouting the same things.

I love John McClane the character, but he's become a caricature, not a character. He's no longer vulnerable and in impossible situations, which made the first two movies great.

agreed... although I'll say that I still REALLY enjoy the 3rd one. It's nothing like the first two, but McClane at least still FEELS like McClane. I liked the hungover, washed out McClane who we got to see in his NY element and I thought the chemistry with Sam Jackson was aces.

but the last movie? McClane's bald... doesn't swear... smoke... and wears a hip jacket... and the MAC GUY IS HIS SIDEKICK?! And then this movie... he's in freaking Russia? Going tomorrow to see just how bad this is... i'm sure it will be every bit of awful that the fourth one was.

This was by far the worst of the franchise. Just god awful!

The two main actors Father/son had zero chemistry or rapport together on screen. Bruce Willis seemed to be limping along and bored with the role IMO.

This sucked.
