Pollock's X-rays as expected
The X-rays of the avulsion fracture in
A.J. Pollock's left thumb that were taken on Tuesday looked as expected. The club will continue playing the waiting game.
"It's still not totally healed, but it's exactly where we thought it would be," Lovullo said. "We're going to continue to do the therapy and try to get him back on his feet as soon as possible."
Pollock suffered the injury in a loss to the Brewers two weeks ago. The initial thought was he'd miss 4-8 weeks. Pollock remains in his soft cast.
There is no timetable for his return at the moment.
"Obviously, the type of healing that we saw, he can't pick up a bat or do any type of baseball activity," Lovullo said. "We'll need to wait another week until we reassess what's going on with another picture."
