I wouldn't be surprised if this idea came from Kurt's side to help the Cardinals sign an FA or two since we all know how tight cap space is with the Fitz situation. He did it a number of time in St.Louis.

Convert most of the salary to a signing bonus and extend him two years. Maybe it will free enough money to re-sign B.J.

Doubtful. The longer BJ waits though, the better it is for us. The FA money always seems to dry up after the first week or so.

The EVT says they are talking a two year extension. So, that means this year PLUS two more, right????

Sign Warner for as long as he wants to play then have a clause that guarentees him a QB coach position if he wants it.

With you all the way. Keep him here afterwards for a QB coach position. I think it will happen as I've seen some print suggesting his family is very happy living in the Valley of the Sun.

Give him the money, up front. if he is traded you guys will be screaming and yelling when Fitz goes to another team. We need to do the smart thing: sign the kid, wait two more seasons and trade Q. I love Quan, but Fitz is younger, scores more TD's and is less injury prone. Keep #11!!!

I promise you I will not scream or shed a tear if we trade Fitz if he refuses to come to some agreement that makes sense for both parties. My life nor the life of the Cardinals does not revolve around Larry Fitz.

How the heck did this turn into a Fitz thread?

I hope Warner can stay here for the rest of his time, he's a guy I'm comfortable backing up Leinart.

I agree with that. He is a lot more important than most people realize. He is insurance that could really pay off.

Warner is a guy I feel confident in should Leinart get injured again.

He wants to be in AZ. He is a great guy. I hope he sticks around for another couple of years.

With that in mind I think we need to draft a young guy to develop into our future #2. Use a second day pick on a QB. I don't want to go into the season again with only 2 QBs on the roster.

If Hasselbeck is brought back I'm OK with bringing in an undrafted FA QB. We need CB (2), WR (1), OL(1-2), RB(1), LB(1). That's 6 or 7 draft picks right there. It doesn't include DE, which may be a need at some point.

The real idiots are the people that blame Graves for every single thing.

Darth, does that insult really have a chance of changing any opinions? Again, I ask all of you to keep it civil, please.

Kurt Warner is going to be on Gambo and Ash this afternoon.

I heard most of this today:

1. Mostly talked about his fundraiser this weekend. Boldin, Whisenhunt and Fitz are all participating and QBing teams. Said Whis has been talking some junk.

2. Tried to straddle the fence with Fitz and the Cards and the contract situation. Basically said he hopes both get what they want.

3. When asked about himself extending, said "we'll listen". But, he made it pretty clear he both a) wants a chance to start and b) play. I don't think he'll sign an extension without Whis telling him "yes" to both of those.

And I don't blame him.

Any news on this. Seems like we should get the easy cap space done first. Restructuring Warner and cutting Shipp would clear almost 4 mil and should be able to get done pretty quickly.

Graves can only work on one contract at a time and he's working on Dansby. So, he should be tied up until around mid-July.
