Some Cubs fan kept a running game log of personal comments. He starts out pre-game by ripping the back side of the D-Backs lineup, reserving special critical contempt for Mark Reynolds and Auggie Ojeda, as if this guy has been following baseball beyond Wrigley Field this year.

http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=44649

I suggest reading the pre-game part and skipping to comments at 11:01 and 11:08. It will warm your heart.

Nice comment....

"On a scale of 1-10 you made Bill Simmons look like an amateur."

Amateur isn't even on that scale!

And saying his diary was better than Simmons, holy crap!

Simmons would have known who Mark Reynolds was :)

10.13...Stephen Drew is a midget with a 44' vertical leap?

I guess he hasn't seen Augie Ojeda standing next to Drew.

Speaking of Augie... when I went to my first D-Back game in person in September, my comment was 'Holy Crap, it isn't the TV - that kid really is tiny'. The Roster lists him as 5-8... there is no way in the world Augie is over 5-4, he is dwarfed by everyone on that team. When he stands in the batters box, the catcher squatting is nearly up to his chin!

But I love the guy... love how his hasn't made me miss Orlando Hudson!!!

I made the exact same comment about Augie when I saw him play in September

This guy still sucks on his ratings thing:

“On a scale of 1-10, Lee looks pretty bad right now.”

What number is that ON THE SCALE??

10:30 – “You know what the Cubs need to do? They need to get in that ass,” says my mom, who has apparently been watching BET again.

In the first one his mom said something like on a scale of 1-10 this game sucks. The guy said it didn't make any sense so now it's just a running joke.

On a scale of 1-10 the D-backs played pretty well last night.

The guy has some skill.....

11:28 – Justin Upton just scored, but I don’t really know how, because I was too busy tying the noose around my neck. Of course, Dick Stockton announced it as “Mark Reynolds crossing the plate”. I’m surprised he refer to the bunt as a layup.

The guy is pretty amusing, actually. I can see how it went off the midget's head.

Uh oh, Theriot just grounded into an easy double-play ball, but Ojeda bobbled the toss (off of his head, no less) and everyone is safe. Maybe, just maybe

The dimensions thing is cool.

The funny thing is, I had been thinking about trying to find someone to go game logs like that on the frontpage blog...which would be kind of fun I think.

In the first one he states his mom kept asking him on a scale of 1-10 questions that had no 1-10 answer. The rest are just mocking his mom's comments.

He really does look like a Bill Simmons wanna be with his writing imo.

"Steven Drew interrupts his busy schedule of being a freaking midget to blast what looks like a 430-foot homerun to dead center."

I about blew Mt. Dew out of my nose when I read that.

Yep. That one was so good I'm going to run with that permanently now. My first attempt at a running tag:

- It works for road trips. Tony Clark just keeps him in his wallet for safe keeping.

I've got some others but I'm still fleshing them out. Like, Stephen Drew: SS/leg rest.

10:03 – Literally seconds after I told my brother “have to be careful with Young, he could hit one out and make it 3-2”, he hits one out and makes it 3-2. To be fair to Lilly, the homer barely snuck out of the park, winding up in about the 45th row in leftfield.

WTF?? It barely snuck out the park, only landed in the 45th row.. Is there even 45 rows in left field.. 45th row seems pretty far to me..
