i've been thinking instead of working. when anquan comes back, something really nice could come about. let's just say that the o-line continues to be decent, and emmitt and troy (perhaps a healthy scobey) can at least put forth a respectable running game. and let's say freddie jones can manipulate the middle of the field against opposing teams' linebackers. if these areas remain above average, the teams we play will have to respect them.
which leaves the receiving corps. with boldin back and healthy, teams will have to decide who to double team, leaving the other plus bj to face single coverage. and we know how devastating fitz and anquan can be to single coverage. that leaves the option of a zone d. if this is the case, high percentage shorter passes that josh throws well. add in an overacheiving defense that can keep us close, and anything can happen. this spectacle of competing in every game will continue, and maybe we'll even dominate a few teams (can you even imagine that???). this team has shown me a lot of heart, and even some talent. with anquan, i think anything can happen.

the sting of san francisco is over! bring on the sea-chickens! onward to victory oh great vicious red bird of the desert!!!!!

That's not an improbable assumption. This team is so close, and the NFL is so balanced, that since we now have some good coaching that's developing our talent, it's quite possible that we will keep getting better for the next 3-5 games. At some point the talent will peak, but it should peak as a mid-tier team. Who knows, we could be down to the last game trying to win and praying for some other team to beat somebody so we make it in (yes, you heard it here first).

With the exception of San Francisco, haven't we basically been seeing zone all year?

What Quan does so well is find seams in zones and that will certainly be an asset, but really the only game this year I've seen much man to man was SF but admittedly I didn't see all the games.

Quan SHOULD create more situations where a safety that had been rolling up to Fitz' side will now be watching Quan. This is where Josh seeing the whole field will come into play, if he does he'll find lots of 2nd and 3rd option WR's open downfield if we get the pass protection.

Seems to me ..........

Freddie Jones and Bryant Johnson should be the major benefactors of "Q's" return.
It's disheartening to watch "prime time" every week and you see other teams receivers 3 or 4 yards beyond the cornerbacks catching easy td passes. Between a decent running game and Q forcing the safeties up to cover his crossing routes, I believe we will see a few of those in the weeks to come.
