That SI article also mentioned about A-Rod's swinger/playboy exploits. Bragging to teammates about "wild nights" with strippers while his wife was home pregnant, this guy is a total a-hole.

And 90% of them probably do the same.

Honestly... is any of this "news"?? Who the hell cares anymore?? I mean, if Jeter or Pujols were revealed as frauds and roid/hgh users - would any of you really be surprised??

Old news... get over it people... MLB players are scum just like you and me.
Now, can we just back to trying to enjoy the game that takes place between the lines??

Agree with paragraph one.

When a society accepts fraud, lies, deceit and cheating as normal behavior, what does that say about that society, in general? Very sad state of affairs FMPOV. Very disturbing to realize that personal reward is the rationale for aberrant behavior.

"Society accepts fraud...".... Hmmm.... I've thought about this for a long time Wally. Years...
I am a purist. I despise the fact that MLB players have been exposed and proven to be cheaters. I hate NFL players who dance like they won Lotto after making a routine tackle. And I can't stand the quirky, spaceship looking putters in golf.

But - what are us purists supposed to do? How are we supposed to demonstrate our disdain? The leagues and the unions wield enormous power and control. They are the puppeteers and the lemming-like fans are the audience, eyes glazed over and lost in all the hype, pomp and manufactured circumstance...

I by no means "accept" this crap. I rail against it as much as anyone. Heck, I've been blasted for not "accepting" Boldin's selfish and juvenile antics..

My point in this thread is simply what I said - is this really "news"??

How can I enjoy the game between the lines if the players are tipping off pitches to the opposition? That directly affects the integrity of the play I'm wathcing.

This entire era is skewed beyond anything since the Negro Leagues. I wouldn't want to be a HOF voter for this era, I couldn't in good conscience delineate anyone from suspicion. This is very sad for those that will be guilty by association....

Those being Jim Thome, Albert Pujols, Ivan Rodriguez, Ken Griffey Jr, Jeff Bagwell, Manny Ramirez, etc...... (within those listed, who knows?)
