Kind of an interesting and intruiguing idea. From the Jaguars perspective, they see Jones-Drew as a great player, but a great player who is entering his 4th year in the league and is probably wanting a new deal. Also, the Jags have always been a good running team and there is thought that the Jaguars can plug in an replacement (Beanie Wells at #8 in 09 draft), get an elite wide reciever that they have needed since the Mark Brunell/Jimmie Smith days, and a guy in Boldin who is from Florida and probably wants to be in Florida.

From the Cards perspective, we would get a big play homerun hitter, complementary runningback who is used to splitting carries, has terrific hands out of the backfield, and along with Tim Hightower is a touchdown machine.

I love Jones-Drew. In alot of ways, he is a runningback version of Anquan Boldin (tough, strong, elusive). He also seems like a Whisenhunt kind of guy.

Not one for one IMO.........they need to offer more......maybe a swap of picks......plus, our O-Line isn't a good run block team.

This would satisfy me. Jones-Drew and Hightower would be a perfect pair IMO. I would prefer a Q to the Panthers for Jonathan Stewart deal though I think.

If they threw in a 3rd or 4th rounder I'd listen

No thanks.

We could get more.. Plus, what would that leave Jax with? Their other rb is old as hell

Good call, I was thinking about that too. How about Boldin and Arrington for MJD and Reggie Nelson? That would give us the centerfielder we really need.

Arrington is a FA
Damn, I was really liking that one. Well, atleast I dont have to watch him anymore. That was one pathetic draft pick that I hated from day one. He may be a good guy and I wish him the best but damn did Graves and Co whiff on that one.

No thanks? Have you checked out Drew's numbers? Try a 4.8 per carry average, 34 touchdowns, and averages 50 catches a year. Plus the guy is 23 years old. There is talk of the Jags taking either Moreno or Wells with their 1st round pick if they make this deal, so they would have their replacement for Drew and a stud wide reciever.

We will not send Boldin to a potential playoff opponent. If we do, it will come back to haunt us big time.

MJD is a stud. I would do that deal in a second. It would be fair for both teams IMO.

Then that kind of limits our options. Almost every team, with the exception of the Lions, Browns, Bengals, Rams and one or two others can make the playoffs. Its best to send him off to the AFC so you only face him once every four years. Most importantly, get the maximum value you can get for him.

I agree it limits the options, but I would rather have them limited. Even then, I would be OK with some trades within the NFC. The 2 biggest no-nos are Philly and Carolina, which are probably 2 of the teams who want him the most.

Carolina already has solid WRs, I'm not sure they'd want to pay Steve Smith and Boldin. They are probably more focused on defense right now especially with arguably their best D player Peppers leaving.

I never cared for the "don't trade to certain teams" mantra. IN the same conference, division or not if it is the best deal for your team, you should take the deal. Don't let your fear of other teams prevent you from making the best deal for yours.

I completely disagree. This thought is running rampant on the board and I have no clue why. Many coaches have said that they feel better trading players to teams that they play often because you know what to expect and how to play these guys. Other players may surprise you a bit, but not one whom you yourself have coached.

I have coached county and state champions in basketball, football and lacrosse and I would not for a second be worried if one of my players went to one of my oppenents. I see these guys play every day and know exactly how any one of them could be exploited. It is my job as their coach to mask that as best as possible from other coaches.

Player for player trades (especially hose involving very good playes) almost never happen. Us discussing this stuff is purely offseason fan fantasyworld at its best.

Ypc dont mean shiiiet dude. Especially if youre a backup.

Not to mention, when healthy, Jax's oline is one of the best in the league.

We dont have nearly that good a line here in AZ, hed be a more physical JJ arrington. Not worth Q imo.

MJD wasn't truly a backup he frequently led the team in carries in games. Fact is he'd be the best young RB we have had on this roster in quite some time. Sure he wouldn't put up 4.8 but he would at least be respectable and likely better than Edge or TH and probably better than anyone we could draft at 31. I'd definitely consider the trade, especially if they thrown a little more.

First Boldin trade that makes sense and I could live with this one, hope GM's read this board. You saw when the Cards showed a glimpse of a run game Fitz turned into Superman, and they wound up in the SuperBowl. Cards showed they an when with Quan I loved Q, but this crap id getting old, Ctybaby Millionaire, Screw him and his Satan agent.

I love this clip when he blew up Merriman.

Personally I believe the Cards really need that small VERY fast rb in the mix. If I were the Card I would hold Boldin and try to sign Sproles before going after MJD.
