Hope he gets healthy and has a nice recovery.
Hope he's got some money set aside for paying physical therapists and whatnot, it'll be on him in 2 days.

Regardless of the cause we need our boy ready to elevate his play.

Never even heard of that muscle. Sounds like he wouldn't be able to steal children due to the injury.

Very interesting and somewhat encouraging because at times he was horrible last year so it would be good to know it was due to an injury.

This guy is one tough ombre. Reminds me of the HOF Wilson playing with one good hand in his Hay day.

What it reminds me of is that our other Safeties were so bad they couldn't play better than an injured 30 year old in his 10th NFL season.

Abductor muscles of the thigh allow for lateral extention (away from midline) of the thigh and leg. This means to me that running in a straight line (or backpeddling) wouldn't likely bother him (as the abductors are not "prime movers"). However, backpedding and having to plant and turn or running in a straight line and having to make quick changes in direction would be hell.

This may be part of the reason his coverage skills lacked the way they did last year, imo.

This is very telling of the lack of depth at safety and how bad Rashan Johnson really is.

I think it really showed when he was up on/close to the line and had to drop back. In these scenarios it appeared to me he just wasn't able to get back and change direction on stuff over the middle and we'd see guys leaving him in the dust. At the time I thought he'd lost a step and figured that coaches should change his role a bit in an attempt to compensate. Glad to hear it wasn't necessarily old age, but injury.

He still won't be 'fast', but this might be the difference in half or more of those plays. If the scheme uses him more effectively, it should reduce much of the rest. This is definitely a positive sign going forwards.

Makes you wonder why he was matched up on Gates, Gonzales, etc

abductor muscles of the hip "abduct" the leg/thigh away from the midline and provides stability for the hip region during this movement (especially when standing/putting pressure on 1 leg).

The main muscles in this group (dont know which one was injured) include the gluteus medius & minnimus, tensor fascia latte, sartorius.

If things go horribly wrong with these muscles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trendelenburg's_sign

No, I feel for this guy now.

I had a torn abductor and it is more than just a nagging injury. It would get real tight and it gave a popping/tear sensation that went from the inside of my knee, through my groin and into the hip and oblique region.

Worse injury in my opinion than my broken ankle in which I tore ligaments.
