Lets just drop this already! Kurt Warner should be able to decide this at this point. You guide a franchise such as the Cardinals to the Super Bowl, you should be able to make the decision. Personally I'm ok with Kurt's decision either way at this point.

LET'S JUST HAVE FUN WE'RE IN THE SUPER BOWL!!!

But, like I said, I don't want them to lose Leinart, whether it be because of FA or because they feel like they have to let him go.
Not wanting to lose him is understandable but I don't think it's an actual issue for a while. I believe his contract is set up so that playing time is factored into what he receives and/or counts against the cap. I think Leinart's got a decent chance to be an NFL starter but rolling the dice on him just realistically has to wait. I think Whis is solid enough that even if they decide to ride Warner until he runs out of gas and let Leinart go, a replacement QB will be found. Whis' specialty is offense so I don't have a fear of the Cardinals being mired in the QB graveyard that it suffered during the 90's.

and he's a family man. I think win or lose he retires. Notice one of the 1st things he did after the WIN was to look for his wife & kids. ...And did ANY of us on here think he'd play the ENTIRE season?? Man, he took a beating. Though in the play-offs the O-Line has REALLY stepped up. Anyways, I think Matt knows he's in a GREAT spot and he's learning from one of the BEST in the business. NOT only in knowledge of the game BUT in the way he handles himself on & off the field. LEADERSHIP WINS GAMES!! BUT for now I'm just going to ENJOY THE MOMENT!! :D

Warner is also a huge contributor to charities etc.. I think if he feels he can keep that up longer by being employed (coaching or playing) I think he does, but then I don't know him personally so...

Matt was one class act yesterday. A good lesson for every kid sitting on the bench...waiting.

I was really impressed with Matt after watching the replay. He seemed to be the first person running out and giving high fives after every big play for the offense. He was genuinely excited. Loved seeing that from the kid.

that being said, whatever Kurt wants to do, retire, come back for two more seasons... whatever... he can do. The guy made me a Jew for Jesus for one day yesterday. Hell, he wins the Super Bowl, I might just fully convert at that point!

but yeah... Walk on Water Warner can come back for the next two seasons for my team any day of the week... and TWICE on SUNDAY! And if that guy somehow leads us to another W in two weeks (and I firmly believe he will), to be honest, I could care less what the team did. They'd have a fifty year free pass from me at that point.

Alot is going to be determined by Warner's contarct demands. McNabb is talking like he wants 15 mill/year. What's that make Warner worth? If we win the Super Bowl, Warner can pretty much name his price but what will the Cards think? I find it hard to believe the Cards giving him something like a 2 year/28mill dollar deal. The Cards may feel a 2 year/19 mill dollar deal is fair. It's hard telling. I won't be surprised either way if he's here or not. The same with Boldin. Although, i think it's more likley that Boldin is gone.

I think Kurt would take a contract like 2 years 18 mil with 12 gauranteed. He could play 1 year and if he were to get hurt or run out of gas he would still end up with about 15 m for 1 year.

That being said , I get this gut feeling he may want to go out on top.

i've got a feeling that when we win and Kurt comes back, he won't bend us over with a deal that just kills the cap. He's got plenty of money. If he comes back, he's coming back to win and I think he'll ask for a contract that both rewards him, but allows us to continue to keep this team together.

Yup. I think that's a very good bet.

This is the guy, after all, who gave up leverage for his first big contract by showing up and signing a minimum tender contract on the first day of training camp so he didn't miss anything.

Isn't it kind of terrible to now somewhat understand those of us in the lunatic fringe?

What?
Why would Lienart be upset? He knows Kurts days are getting short and he's about to take over a Super Bowl team. If we believe the news that the choice between Matt and Kurt was oh so close he has to be feeling confident he can take the riegns next season.

Somers was on ESPN this morning and said he expects Warner to play another couple years.

No reason to really do it tho. Kurt's playing great and with this team stepping up our franchise has never looked better. Let Kurt Warner decide for himself what he really wants to do. If deep in his heart he wants to keep playing, we will be as big a threat as we are now with him. Let him decide this for himself tho.

I have a random question for you all..

Even though Jim Rome doesn't seem to be popular around, yesterday on his show he had 2 guys filling in for him since it was MLK Jr day..

One of the hosts was a guy that generally does LA radio (I believe) and is a known hater on Matt Leinart.

Anyway, point of the story is that while we all saw him out there celebrating and having a great time with the rest of the team, this guy said that within the locker room all his teammates can't stand him and don't want to ever see him as their QB. He also stated that the article that just came out in the LA Times about how Leinart is a new man was all BS and not put out through the Cards organization instead his publicist who has been begging for the article to be written.

Anyone think there is any truth to this or it's just more BS from the media?
