I have a couple thoughts regarding last nights marathon rumor fest that this deal would be announced within hours. First of all, for this deal to be imminent I would think Drew Rosenhaus would not have been so accessible when Dan Patrick called his cell yesterday. It didn't sound to me that he was locked down in negotiations with anyone.
I also found the article (Pricey backs aren't in Cards' plans Kent Somers) this AM interesting. Obviously a media plant by the Cards. To me it reeks of a pre negotiating tactic to get the James camp to thinking that we should probably get realistic on contract demands or get comfortable with Indy's one year deal.
It also could be intended to neutralize any other teams that might bid up the Cards potential offer by making the appearance that we may not be as interested as last nights "this is a done deal rumor" suggested.
I am really torn on this trade concept. My gut tells me he will cost too much for a guy in his position (age, injury etc). Logic tells me a #8 pick with this years talent should yield a great RB. Then history reminds me of #7 pick Thomas Jones.
