Now, as the rest of AC/DC moves forward with the questionable choice of Axl Rose to serve as the band's vocalist for the remaining Rock or Bust tour, Johnson has shared a heartbreaking letter to fans. "That was the darkest day of my professional life," he writes.
Though he can no longer perform on stage in arenas and stadiums where the "sound levels are beyond my current tolerance," he can continue recording in the studio. "I wish to assure our fans that I am not retiring. My doctors have told me that I can continue to record in studios and I intend to do that," he writes.
