I think that Fitz is going to regret getting #7 fired by not standing up for him, but he has to live with that choice.

Why exactly is that? His production has been fine (although the knee injury hurt game 1) with DA. If you are only talking about individual stats, then he will actually be better w DA in the sense he might occassionally get the long ball...

Because I think that Fitz likes the limelight and winning games. Do you think that Fitz is a guy who will be happy getting 100 catches and 1100 yards and 10 TDs on a 4-12 team? He'll probably get to the pro bowl based on Fantasy Football players and the coaches around the league, but he won't have a national presence on a non-competitive team.

I'm not going to re-litigate the Derek Anderson long ball discussion. I'm not impressed with his 6.4 YPA average, although it would be a three-year high for him.

Fitz didn't seem to care about the deep ball last season, when he was playing with a one-armed quarterback. I think Fitz would rather get balls he could catch then get a couple of deep balls that are five yards away from him being able to catch them.

I think you are referencing Dennis Johnson, but I believe it was Kentucky, not Alabama.

You are right. From the way he played in Arizona he might have been the biggest baby ever born in Kentucky.

:p

I dont know...I cant argue if Fitz enjoys being on a bad team, but I have a hunch neither him or any athlete would prefer to be on a losing team. But im going way out on a limb here.

The arguement isnt about Anderson its more about Leinart's inability to do anything other than checkdown all day. Unless fitz starts coming out of the backfield I dont think Leianrt is capable of even getting him the ball on an intermediate dig route. So i am not buying he'd get more shots from Leinart. And apparently he didnt believe it either.

I'm not relitigating the #7 decision, either. It is what it is. Derek Anderson is our quarterback; Larry Fitzgerald is going to have to live with being the best player on a very bad team. It's possible he could have been the best player on a team that was mediocre but probably could've won the division.

#7 got him the ball on an intermediate dig route when Fitz got injured in the preseason. Give me a break.
