First-round pick Jones injured in first workout

NFL.com wire reports

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 29, 2005) -- Adam 'Pacman' Jones was pulled from an afternoon workout when he experienced tightness in his lower body during the Tennessee Titans' rookie orientation.

Jones, a cornerback from West Virginia who was the first defensive player taken in the draft, left the practice field with a trainer approximately 25 minutes into the session. He returned 10 minutes later but did not participate in any drills.

Neither Jones nor head coach Jeff Fisher would confirm whether the problem was in the groin or a hamstring.

"(They) pulled me out of drills a little early so I sat back and watched for the most part," Jones said. "I'm all right."

Jones said he planned to participate in another workout. All but one of the Titans 11 draft picks and 36 rookie free agents were on hand for the start of the orientation, which began with a team meeting the day before.

What?
Maybe Mac will just sit him under a shade tree. No need burning these guys out before the season starts.

I can see what mac would say about him....he went out there and was competing....you should have seen his motor out there....until his kj hammy/groin injury happened...he was aligned with the team...with one heart.

Seriously though, since KJ for the suns, I've been very wary of hamstring issues. It seems once someones got 'em, they never really seem to go away. (w/o being too quick to judge) Thank you we didn't have a chance to draft him.

And that's the reason why Fitz went before Roy Williams

Crimson, Starks makes Jones look like an LB. He's built more like Sam Mills (RIP) than Duane Starks.

Adam 'Pacman' Jones hurt in first practice?
Wrong headline.

Should have been "PacMan Comes Down With Tommy Knight Syndrome."

Or

"PacMan forgets his power pellet, ghost injury gets 'em" (ghost=non contact injury)

I still have a vivid mental image of Pac-Man on draft day. It was like a Lil' John music video. As soon as the Titans saw that they must have 2nd guessed their decision. Funny as hell though...

Remember how Deion Sanders looked on draft day? Pretty similar...

Pac Man can play.

I am very happy with Rolle but Pac Man will be a player.
