Someone mentioned that Breaston may only be as effective as he's been because of Boldin taking pressure off him...
Im pretty sure Breaston's best games have come when Boldin has been out, so that theory goes down the drain..

I have no issue trading Boldin.. i expect us to add a TE threat and get a much better RB in the near future... so upgrading those positions will definately make up for Q's production..

I have alot of faith that Breaston and Doucet will make fine #2 and #3 wideouts.. with Urban filling in as a solid guy in four wideout sets.. add a true TE or one of those flex guys like Travis Beckum... get a back to go with Hightower.. and our offense will still be great

Im torn on Leinart.. i suppose if you believe that St. Pierre has just as good of a shot to be a starting QB as Leinart does then sure make the move.. but i would hate to lose Warner in a yr or two and have nobody to take over

Whoever believes that either really thinks Leinart isn't very good or really overrates St. Pierre. Or both which seems to be Mitch's view. I could live with trading Leinart, but not if our backup plan to Warner is St. Pierre. That would be about as bad as having Shaun King as your QB. He has been in the league long enough that if he was good enough to start he would have found a starting job by now or at least have been signed as a #2 by someone instead of the emergency #3.

Mitch also wanted us to cut/trade Warner before the '07 season and have Shane Boyd as the back-up.

if the Cardinals win in two weeks, they could fire Wiz and I could care less.

What makes me think you're right is that Whiz isn't built like a guy who'd pick Matt as the QB.

I honestly think that Whis and Matt are too fundamentally different to ever coexist as coach and starting QB, Matt just isn't what Whis would pick IMO.

I personally think that whole line of thinking on Warner is wrong but no one can argue with his success here this year.

Like it or not Whis will want to get a QB he's happy with and I've never felt he'd ever get to that point with Matt.

Would you have thought Warner was a QB who's style Whis would be happy with?

Whisenhunt wants to win. Nothing gets a coach canned faster than crappy QB play. He's not going to let Leinart go. IMO.

Tampa Bay Traded Steve Young to the 49ers for a 2 and a 4. He sat on the bench from 1987 until 1991.

Not saying in any way that Leinart is anything remotely near Steve Young, just be careful what you wish for when you have a guy learning behind a HOF'er and surrounded by talent.

Why would we trade Leinart for Suggs? So he can be a backup on another team? Flacco has established his place at the helm in B-More. Because Leinart hasn't seen the field we don't even know how good he is or his market worth. And before anyone starts, no, this is not comparable to the Matt Schaub situation.

St. Pierre is only there because he knows the system. Nothing more. His game is on par with the "great" Shane Boyd. Awful. We might as well throw Boldin in at QB if Warner goes down.

I think you guys have missed my point. I wasn't advocating a Leinart for Suggs trade (I think he is a FA at the end of the year), just the possibility of something along those lines. I think it would be wise to hang on to Matt, however, if the RIGHT opportunity presents itself, it MAY be worth exploring. Just as it is tough to carry 2 10 mil/yr. receivers, it might be tough to carry 2 highly paid qb's as well, especially w/ pressing needs elsewhere.

Now, as far as Boldin is concerned, that's probably an eventuality rather than just a thought at this point given the circumstances. Rosenhaus will make sure of that about 2 seconds after the SB is over.

Ask yourself this...if assuming Warner returns, would you trade Leinart for Rey Maulaga or Knowshon Moreno? That's what the Cardinals could get for Leinart this year.

You go ahead and do it.

I really like both of those players. Along with Brian Cushing, those might be my three favorites in this draft.

But, no way in HELL would I trade Leinart for any of them. Sorry Mitch, I just think that is dense. Good QBs are too hard to get, and Warner is just too old to hitch our wagon to. And, St. Pierre? Please. He has no more value than Shane Boyd or Preston Parsons.

Matts passes are crisper and spiral tighter than Warners.

Matt is a very bright guy, he is largely unflappable and he's handled this situation well IMO.

Why people gin up ideas of trading the guy is beyond me, I've said why I think they might but I've never said they should because no matter how bright this set of management may be and they are, I don't think they're right about the guy.

I'm totally down with Warner starting this year and said so, Warner won the thing fair and square and that's how it should be.

I like how we're going old school and making the kid beat out the old guy, again how it should be, just restructure the kid and keep him around until he takes out the old dude fair and square that's how the cycle of life works.
