Unfortunately, I think Adub being so vocal about "Why cant I get an opportunity?!" is a big contributing factor as to why hes not getting any calls.

He views himself as a starter still, while most teams will see him as a backup, veteran leader.

They probably feel he'll be a distraction, breathing down the necks of the young guys, rather than a 'go-with-the-flow' piece at the backend of the roster.

If he were quieter on twitter, I think hed be getting more bites.

I wouldn't exactly say so. His injuries and fears for other injuries played a big part. I wouldn't say injuries would be considered leaving on your own terms....

He wasn't injured but was concerned about injuries in the future. Actually SoCal Cardfan is much closer to the truth.

I'm pretty sure he went out on Brenda's terms. :p

I agree that Brenda was in his ear enough that it swayed him to go ahead and retire. Thing is that he could have still had played and played at a very high level. The fact that he admitted that he considered (albeit very briefly) returning to help the Cards when Palmer and Stanton both went down with injuries shows that when he retired it was because he wanted to and not because he couldn't play anymore.
