Does this seem a great fit or what?

If Aeneas could teach DRC the thinking and techniques that let him dominate with his "average" speed...we would have a monster defensive backfield.

Come on Cardinals...DO IT!

He could hold a Sunday service in Glendale.

I find myself there praying a lot on Sundays.

I heard that Deion Sanders and Darrell Green were mentoring him during or after his senior season. It's up to DRC to put on some weight and get the techniques down.

I don't really think it's a good fit. Goober's right; Deion and Green are a much better example.

Now if Aeneas wanted to tutor Antrel Rolle, that would be a good fit.

Also, it's worth noting that just because a guy was a good player doesn't mean that he will become a good--or even adequate--coach. Doesn't anyone remember the Joe Greene Era?

The chances of a "Mean" failure are reduced by a third.

As far as Deon goes, didn't Hester and he communicate often?

I know he's not a CB anymore... is that a good or bad thing?

Aeneas hasn't done any kind of mentoring at all with DRC. He just stated that he would be willing, if DRC gave him a call.

Anyone who saw Aeneas run on the field and says he had average speed wasnt looking. That guy was the epitome of game speed. Not to mention his more than 1 90+ yard TD's that nobody ever even came close to catching him. Dude was fast!

I went to a couple Ram camps in Macomb after Aeneas joined them and every young DB on the team looked up to him. He was the epitome of class and to a man they loved and respected him. DRC kind of reminded me of him in the way he calls people "Mr. Bidwill." He's just a classy guy with the heart of a competitor.

If the Cardinals could get him to spend a week in Flagstaff mentoring and coaching up some of the young talent like DRC, Antrel Rolle, and Eric Green it would lay a solid foundation IMO.

Agree completely however Aenas can show DRC what it takes to be a great player. It's up to DRC to use whatever knowledge /guidance he gets from Aenas to become a great player.

Thats is what coaching is. You dont know that he can do that which is what Daisy was saying. Just because you can do it on the field doesnt mean you can convey it to another person properly and in a way they will understand.

Aeneas would be an outstanding character role model; Deion...not so much. Darrell...meh.

Aeneas could teach the technique that got him hall-of-fame worthy; Deion can teach Neon and thats about it, Darrell is was considered among the great for his speed and longevity, but Aeneas is a flat master in the thinking, tatics, and execution of the art of CB....Aeneas still had 1 more career INT than Green.

Deion and Green and DRC have this in common; incredible speed. Aeneas's name was never linked with the phrase "incredible speed". Shut-down, Shut-out, junk-yard dog, blanket, inside jock-strap, crushing hitter, dangerous blitzer, ball hawk...these phrases yes. These are the things he could try to teach a smart, young, cornerback.

Aeneas ties into our our Cardinal past with roots from his Division II background (DRC, cough, cough) to his name featured in our home stadium's ring of honor. Deion the Cowboy or Green the Redskin have ties to different, and very ugly, teams...yck.

Not every DB coach is a future HOF former Cardinal DB draft pick whose name is in our ROH.

If the guy can't coach or help, really hard to imagine that a Pastor can't teach, then what is the harm?

You will still have cultivated long-term ties of this organizations great players with the next generations.

I can't remember a lot of that happening around here, in Cardinals Land, and it is how you change a culture and how players view playing for this organization.
