DE-Jamaal Anderson (6-6, 280)
Strengths:
Has great size with a large frame and long arms...A smooth athlete with excellent agility...Strong and powerful...Terrific pass rusher who can be effective with either a bull-rush or finesse moves...Does a quality job versus the run...Motor runs non-stop...Very good in pursuit and has a burst to close...Is versatile and could play a number of different roles depending on the scheme he is in...Has a ton of upside.
Weaknesses:
Does not have a lot of starting experience...Timed speed and quickness are good but not great...Still pretty raw and will need some technique work...Will play too high and needs to display more consistent leverage...He will struggle to separate from blocks at times...You could run the risk that he is simply a one-year wonder.
Notes:
His father Glenn played college basketball at Gallaudet University...Had a terrific junior campaign in 2006 despite a lack of national recognition...Could easily fit in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive scheme...Similar to Richard Seymour and could be a poor-man's Mario Williams...Even though he's not yet a finished product this guy has all the tools to develop into a premier all-around defensive end in the pros.
OT-Joe Staley (6-5, 300, 4.75)
Strengths:
Is an amazing athlete for the position with feet that are second to none...Timed speed, agility and quickness are outstanding...Moves well in open space and can get to the second level...Shows the ability to change direction and adjust on the fly...Good intangibles with a motor that is always running...Smart player who picks things up quickly and has shown consistent improvement...Still has lots of upside.
Weaknesses:
Is still new to the position and pretty raw...Has done a good job of bulking up but could still stand to pack on some additional pounds...Is not overly powerful at the point of attack...Has to develop more of a mean streak and a killer instinct...Needs to keep hitting those weights and continue to get stronger...Level of competition.
Notes:
Began his college career as a 220 lb. freshman tight end...Really put himself on the map when he reportedly ran a 4.70 forty at the Chippewa's Pro Day workout as a junior...Is a much better prospect than his former teammates Eric Ghiaciuc and Adam Kieft were...Could legitimately play left tackle in the NFL...Is a workout warrior with phenomenal measurables who has not yet reached his full potential.
P-Adam Podlesh (4.50 40)
Strengths:
A phenomenal athlete for the position with great strength and timed speed...Has a very strong leg...Accurate with good placement...Gets a lot of air under the ball and his hangtime is outstanding...A solid tackler who will help in coverage...Never had a punt blocked in 4 years...Also a holder...Hard worker with good intangibles.
Weaknesses:
Leg is so powerful that he will out-kick his coverage every once in a while...Was a little inconsistent at times as a senior...He has such outstanding triangle numbers that teams could get mesmerized and select him a little earlier than they should.
Notes:
Last name is pronounced "PAHD-lesh"...Set the school record for a punter with a 325-pound clean and a 4.44 time in the 40-yard dash...Is widely regarded as the top punting prospect available and could be an all-around special teams weapon.
WR/Returner-Chansi Stuckey (6-0, 4.35 40)
Strengths:
Naturally athletic...Has very good speed and quickness with a burst...Elusive and is tough to tackle in the open field...Has pretty good hands...Runs well after the catch...Also a top return man...Can be a dangerous weapon on reverses and trick plays...Hard worker with good intangibles...Still developing and has some upside.
Weaknesses:
Does not have either the ideal height or bulk that you look for...Not very strong or physical...Raw and is still learning the position...Doesn't run great routes...May be limited to a backup/return specialist role at the next level...Durability is a concern.
Notes:
Began his college career as a quarterback before moving to wide receiver as a sophomore...Was having a great senior campaign but missed some time with a broken foot...Intriguing prospect who needs to show he can stay healthy...Jack-of-all-trades who may never be a star but could contribute in a number of ways.
