Klowned by Keim
Leaving Young with no help was by design and is the right call. We absolutely have to test players in the preseason and the only way to test whether he can handle blocking on an island is to see it in a live game vs. First stringers.
I wouldn't doubt that Skelton was pulled because he was hurting. He walked off with a limp on his last snap.
D.J. Young hasn't stood out against second- or third-stringers. Why would you reasonably expect that he'd look good against first-stringers?
More importantly, you can't have an experiment that makes sense with multiple variables. It displays a real lack of planning that the coaching staff preferred an experiment with the 2nd most important position on the offense while trying to determine who your quarterback is going to be.
