You appear to be an Aggie or at least a fan of the football program... tell this tea sipper about your opinion on this cornerback in Aggie maroon, is Keim on something or onto something regarding Brandon Williams :)

Here is my opinion on his play:

His main asset is speed. I went to the ASU-A&M game and I know there were many plays in that game when ASU would try to get out wide. But, they never outran Williams to the corner.

Then, for a converted running back, I was surprised by how hard and fearlessly he would tackle. And, he's a good tackler for a CB.

Negatives. he is RAW as a cover guy. He has trouble adjusting to cuts in routes. Once the ball is in the air, he could be slow to adjust to it. It's not like he was totally useless, but his inexperience was gameplanned by the opposing OCs. But A&M got so thin on defense he had to start. Here, he is not under pressure to start.

If they were thinking of him as special teams right now, then develop into a CB possibly, then the pick makes sense to me. Plugging him in as a nickel cover guy right away? I would be worried about that.

The former defensive coach from LSU (having such guys under his tutelage as HB and Peterson) is now at A&M and endorsed him highly from my understanding to Keim and staff from the Cardinal press conference which they stressed with confidence. Yes, a coach will talk well about his players but said Williams was one of his best students of the game and believes in him. If his coach says this and the Patriots and Steelers worked him out with positive beliefs, I am going to put some faith into what they say... thanks for your opinion, it is valued too

The kid also possesses straightaway 4.3 forty speed and is a solid tackler. He would be valuable as a gunner immediately, and could transition into a DB after work with coaches and our on-field mentors during the season
