As a Wisconsin alum I can't complain. This guy was a beast in college, an absolute beast. I don't know what happened in Dallas. He was hurt a lot but competent when he played.

I've never liked Leckey. Too small, no power. I hope Johnson can come in and start.

Johnson is a good fit. He was okay in dallas....I thought gurode just beat him out this past season. Before that the edge was probably with johnson as gurode was struggling to find his way. Johnson may have had a problem because of his size, but it appears he's put on some weight. correct me if i'm wrong.

I like Leckey but I like Johnson too. Heard his interview today and he's sharp. Johnson had the dreaded microfracture surgery but seems to have recovered.

The loser of the competition for starting C will be better than any starter we've had for most of the last 19 years.

Officially I could have posted when Shipp signed. Unofficially, I was posting a few hours before that.

True...you could have counted Shipp. I'm surprised you held your tongue as long as you did.

A solid, under the radar signing that may prove to be better than the slight press it's gotten nationally.

I like it. After losing his job to Guorde (sic), Johnson's going to come out with a chip on his shoulder, and is going to bust his ass to prove that Dallas messed up. Guy already had a mean streak to kill for.. Now.. I'm looking forward to that! Usually, it's people with something to prove that make the most impact.

Keep an eye on this one. It'll prove worth while.

Now question is, will they keep him at C or do what rumors have stated, and move him to guard?

The Valley so low.
Good side: it's an OL signing, probably a net improvement, and certainly improved depth. Bad side, we lost our best [debatably, I agree] OL player, and only remotely-near-pro-bowler, to Dallas and got a second-stringer from them back.

Net result: possibly a marginal improvement at center, some additional depth at center, and a gaping hole at the critical left offensive tackle position. I think I'll hold off on the standing ovation and bows for Rod Graves and Ken Whisenhunt for now.

Kirwan and Ryan on SIRIUS liked the signing - though they pegged it to Kalil's possibly moving into the first round and our not having a shot at him at #37.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do feel this is a good example of filling a need in free agency to avoid the pressure to draft for need later on.

I love the fact that al johnson "seems to have recovered" from microfracture surgery, but you're still waiting for Amare to spontaneously combust as a result of similar surgery. You crack me up Skorpp.

[PS, I hate this capitalization thing. It slows me down waaay too much to post during work. As a result y'all should expect to see much less of me - though I'll continue to read]
