The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball program faced what was likely their toughest test yet over the last three days, hosting the Tennessee Volunteers inside of Sewell-Thomas Stadium for a high-profile three-game SEC series.
Beginning on Thursday night, Alabama and Tennessee faced off in a nationally televised game in which the Crimson Tide eventually came away with a 6-5 win to hand No. 1 ranked Tennessee their first SEC loss, with a big five-run second inning playing a key role.
In the win, Justin Lebron and Richie Bonomolo Jr. combined for five RBI, while Carson Ozmer also impressed out of the bullpen to record the save. Bryce Fowler also had a memorable play in the win, robbing a home run out in right field.
In Game 2, Alabama would however fall to the Volunteers by a final score of 10-7, a game in which Tennessee had an early lead. The same occurred in Game 3 on Saturday as well, with Alabama falling by a final score of 9-2 to drop the series, two games to one.
Now sitting at 22-3 overall, as well as 4-2 in SEC baseball play, Alabama's next game is set to take place Tuesday, March 25 against North Alabama. The Crimson Tide's return to SEC conference action will come next weekend at home against Oklahoma.
