1) Alan Branch is over-rated.. he does not show up in big games... he plays very well against over-matched opponents... but fades against top competition.. check every Ohio St. game from the last three years... the USC game this year.. and handful others against good teams...

2) Anderson and Adams... nice players... no potential to be Pro Bowl level guys... u do not pick guys like this with the #5 pick...

We need to trade down if Thomas and Peterson are off the board... Someone will want that pick cause there are 5 bigtime players on the board in Russell, Thomas, Peterson, CJ, and Quinn...

We need to get out of the 5 spot, try to grab an extra 2nd rounder or a 3rd rounder... and draft either Reggie Nelson, Laron Landry, or Levi Brown..

Note: I hope u guys clamoring for Anderson, Branch or Adams, have seen them play often, cause I have and it's evident to me their maximum potential doesnt justify the #5 draft pick

I'm afraid you are right about the three d-linemen. The pundits seem to have question marks about all three. I don't get a warm fuzzy about any of them. It's a bad year to have the fifth pick in a four-deep blue chip draft. Five-deep if you count Quinn, which I don't.

Whiz and his staff have given Graves and his scouts "job descriptions" for every position (& I'd guess every spot on the roster). The BPA ratings will probably be adjusted so that a player's rating will go a bit higher or lower depending how well he fits the profile Whiz and his people have lain out.

I'm sorry, but where did this assertion come from? I haven't seen anything like that.

Quinn will be the first player picked, or, will fall to round 4 if his pro day workout is average,

Many good answers. You definitely need a solid RT but it's always important to remember that regardless of the orientation of your QB, the best DEs in the league usually play the RDE spot (vs. the LT). Even though he'll be able to see them clearly, your Dwight Freeney's of the world will be coming at Matt from that side making it still an important place to have a big body.

I agree that Thomas will probably go to the Lions but you know they can't pass up a good receiver and after the combine, they may fine someone like Johnson waaaay too tempting to pass up. Remember, this is Matt Millen we're talking about. And while I think the #5 pick may be too rich for Levi Brown, there are some scouts that say he's every bit as good as Thomas. Besides, if he ends up being the franchise LT for years to come, he's worth it.

My biggest point on the Branch pick is that while you guys may not be the Jaguars or Vikings at the DT spot, you've got some good personnel there. Even if Branch were the best value, there will still be some REALLY good value in some areas of real need there when you pick. Tough choices either way.

Can you believe we still have two friggin' months 'til the draft? Yikes.

I believe Somers reported it in his Combine Blog.

He had talked to Graves about the draft approach.

On Graves' recommendation Whis held a 2 hour "seminar" about the exact type of players that he was looking for at every position, so that everyone in the organisation is on the same page in the player evaluations.

"Alan Branch/DT/Michigan: Branch ran relatively well in the 40, clocking under 5.10-seconds after weighing in at 324 pounds. He looked sluggish and sloppy during the drilling portion of the workout leading many to believe he is in poor shape."

He is listed as a guy whose stock is sliding according to SI.Com
