This was my first Queen record. In fact, this was one of the first rock albums I have listened to. Originally I had this on tape when I was 11; that's 14 years ago. Since then I have picked up every single studio record they've released, and Queen has emerged as one of my all-time favorite bands. There is just something really special about this cd. It is, after all, the final Queen recording (if you don't count the excellent Made In Heaven released several years after Mercury's death.) In my opinion, it is also their strongest and most consistent effort since 1980's The Game. My favorite song on here is "The Show Must Go On." Also noteworthy, "Innuendo", with its brilliant instrumental section, "Ride the Wild Wind", "These Are the Days of Our Lives", and the beautiful "Don't Try So Hard."

What a remarkable choice... what a remarkable album!

It's overwhelming despite Mercury's rapidly deteriorating health that he managed to still remain as one of the most dynamic/versatile vocalists ever.....

The entire album was a fitting tribute to how great this band was in general and I still wish that they didnt mess with their legacy by going on tour with Paul Rodgers... Although..that's an entirely subject all together....

Anyways... my favorite songs from "Innuendo" is the title track, "These Are the Days of Our Lives", and "The Show Must Go On"..... Mercury knew his eventual death from AIDS was imminent, so most of the album's lyrics was in regards to it...especially "The Show Must Go On"....which if one may realize.. perhaps he was also inferring in that song that the band should continue whether or not he eventually died or not, so perhaps then it was acknowledged that they would do so..... Of course.. it could have meant that despite of Mercury's disease that the band should all record together regardless, but I'm basing my earlier assertion on how the song was aptly placed as the final track, so he knew that more than likely he would be dead by the time they went back into the studio again and finished an entire new albums's worth of material....

"Innuendo" was Mercury at his most reflective and perhaps also one in which he sensed calm because he knew that soon he would be at peace from the extremely destructive condition that he was afflicted with......

Growing up in Germany I was a HUGE Queen Fan..My first record ever was News of the World....I absolutely LOVED Innuendo..I just listened to it the other day..it's always a bittersweet experience..My favorites were Innuendo, Headlong, I'm Going Slightly Mad, and The Show Must Go On. I got a Queen tattoo(my first tattoo) the day after Freddie died as a sort of tribute. Queen is a huge reason why I wanted to be in a band...and Freddie is far and away the best rock singer/showman there ever was in my opinion..
