Album A Day #5: Houses of the Holies

Ah - Led Zeppelin. This was an extremely difficult pick for me because I like so many of their albums - but if I had to just pick one, then this is the one I'd recommend. Great songs, great singing.

What more can you say - it's Led Zeppelin - one of the cornerstones of Rock 'n Roll.

Something I noticed while posting this, it looks like I posted an album from each decade starting with the 60's. Didn't plan it that way - just think it's funny. Also, I didn't do this in my previous posts but I'll do it here and then go back and add this information to my other Album of the Day threads.

 This is a good one. I was considering doing it myselfwhen I'm up. I definately have a Led Zeppelin album in there somewhere.

One of the neat things about Zeppelin is so many of their albums seems to have such a distinct flavor. HOTH is one of those that stands out to me as unique. Everytime I listen to it I'm transported back to a vacation I took with a friend's family to Key West when I was 15 (not that the album had been recently released then, it's just one of the tapes we had along with us).

Old school album art is cool. Kind of lost since the tape and cd age.

Excellent choice. This is a great album...in fact it was the second CD I purchased once I got a CD player about 10 years ago. Just had to have it on disc.

No weakness on the whole album. Rain Song is my favorite on the album but not by much.
