I've loved The Police ever since I can remember, and in spite that Sting became extremely popular during his solo career....I've always often wondered what could have been... or would The Police ever reunite.... It's very unfortunate that Sting is overly egotistical and they can never settle their differences...They've tried to make a comeback, but their constant feuding/bickering always interferes with any progress....
"Synchronicity" is where The Police compromised their strong reggae/ska roots (which I loved on their first 3 albums "Outlandos d'Amour", "Reggatta de Blanc, and "Zenyatta Mondatta") and "Ghost In The Machine" was where they began to experiment more with pop-music...... Yes... Andy Summer's song "Mother" is very unbearable to listen to, however, the album wouldnt have been the same w/out....
Obviously the stand-outs were "Every Breath You Take", "King of Pain" (always been my fave), and "Wrapped Around Your Finger".... Both "Sychronicity" really showcase the bands talents completely...... "Tea In The Sahara" and "Murder By Numbers" both show how The Police were beginning to incorporate even more influences into their arsenal and again one is left to often wonder...what if?
