We might have missed out on the playoffs this year but if the Colts remain unbeaten that Week 17 game would have as much, if not more, national media attention then a wildcard (or possibly even a Superbowl) game. Superbowl champions are crowned every year but an undefeated seasons never happen in the NFL.

I can't think of a better way for the Cardinals team (and organization) to start the 2006 year (game is on 1/1/06) then by making this game their personal "Superbowl" and pulling out all the stops in an attempt to win it. Sure the Colts have the complete package and are capable of this awesome feat but the Cardinals #1 NFL Pass offense presents some serious trouble for the Colts secondary as Warner and Co. could light it up in the pass friendly dome and make this the "NFL Game of the Year" that will be seen on the NFL Channel and ESPN Classic Sports for decades to come.

You have to think that Rackers will be close to being back at 100% for this game and with the defense getting better by the week (with both CB A.Rolle and CB E.Green getting on the field together by then) along with Dansby and Dockett returning- it makes for a great ending (or should I say beginning) to he 2006 season. Plus what a gauge this game would be to see how the Cardinals match up with the best team in the NFL (maybe NFL hisotry).

If your a Cardinals fan you want to see this game happen along with all the hype an undefeated team should get with our Cardinals being the beneficiaries of it all- it will be like media day during Superbowl week but all week long!

So its true that the Cardinals may have missed out on the playoffs- but one of the most anticipated games in the history of the NFL could be landing right in their nest on January 1, 2006 if the Colts take care of business the next 2 weeks!

Couldnt have said it better, absolutely nothing to lose and a lot to gain; even a loss gets a higher draft pick. Let's just hope the injury situation is better by then to stand a chance.

Go Colts! Its going to be hard getting through these next two weeks though. They can easily have a loss to SD or Seattle and no one will think the worse for it. But if they get to 15-0, I think they'll have to play us. People just aren't going to put up with the Colts taking a pass at 16-0 when all they need to do is beat the Cardinals. They may beat the crap out of us, but I doubt it. I think it will be a great game.

If the Colts are 15-0 I could picture them being pretty uptite when we get into town.Add to that the perception we should be handled easily and all we need is an early TD & their paranoia could snowball into a complete meltdown.

Cards 28 Colts 23 :D

I can see the local/national media already. They probaly allready have the 4 scripts written out.

1. If they play there starters and lose, its because the Colts were just playing enough to not get injured, had a bad game, and we still suck.

2. If we beat them when they are sitting players, well its cause they were sitting there starters, and we still suck.

3. If we lose to there starters, they go undefeated, we suck.

4. If we lose to there backups, well then we really suck.

But we would for sure get a nationally televised Featue Game, if they are undefeated. It would be great to spoil them though, I heard Boldin say that is what he is looking forward too. He said He won't have a post season, but to take out an undefeated Colts team, would be the next best thing.

I think they beat San Diego fairly easily. Not only do they beat Diego for continueing there undeafed streak, but it also knocks one of the toughest AFC teams out of the playoffs. Seattle will already have home field advantage clinched. I really see no purpose for them risking injury in this game. Should be over by halftime. I do see them playing us undefeated.

Actually there's a good possibility they won't. They need to win this week and the Bears the lose in order to have it wrapped up.

It all depends on if the Falcons can beat the Bears this week.

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now. I have a strange feeling that IND will be 15-0 when we face them, and I have an even stranger feeling that we'll beat them. Why? Because it would be such a HUGE sad story for Colts fans, not unlike our victory over the Vikings to kee them out of the playoffs.

I'm predicting it now -- if IND is still undefeated when we face then, we will win.

Possible reason for this prediction? I'm a little drunk.

A blowout by the Colts could be devastating for the Cards. Even a slim margin victory by the Colts will mean the Cards will be on the negative end of one of the most ballyhooed victories in Football. That could be totally demoralizing.

That game is in Indianapolis. I can just imagine the noise in that place and the people going nuts. Sorry, but I can't dream of a Card win in that set of circumstances. Hey, at least the Cards will geta better draft pick with another loss.

I respectfully disagree that it will put any real stigma or shame on us if we are the 16th team to get knocked off by these guys even if we get completely blown away. Its way back in the line of shame in my book behind things like constituting the 2 wins for an awful 2-16 San Fran team last year, or the blow-outs we suffered to awful teams the two years ago. What I see as totally demoralizing however, is if the Colts do lose before they play us, rest their starters and we lose anyway. But whatever. I really just want to see the Cards continue to play competitive ball for the next three games. Lets just go after all these guys. Keep throwing to Larry and Quan. Onward and upward!

Agreed with all points. The Cardinals are just the unlucky team that drew the last straw. If the Cards were second to last of the Colt's scedule than we might not even be talking about it.
That said, I'd like to see a win, regardless of the outcome.
