J.R. Smith has agreed to a four-year, $24.7 million contract with the Knicks, according to Smith's agent Leon Rose.

So no worries of him coming here :)

Actually it sounds like a good signing for the money.

The Pelicans, Kings and Blazers have consumated a three-team, sign and trade deal.

In the deal, the Pelicans will formally acquire Tyreke Evans, who they signed to a 4 year, $44 million offer sheet earlier this week. New Orleans in turn will send Greivis Vasquez to Sacramento and Robin Lopez to Portland; who will be sending future draft considerations and cash as part of the deal.

New Orleans Pelicans Get
Tyreke Evans, PG
Jeff Withey, C

Sacramento Kings Get
Greivis Vasquez, PG
Two second-round picks

Portland Trail Blazers Get
Robin Lopez, C*
Terrel Harris, SG
*- Blazers will pay $1,568,999 to cover Lopez's trade kicker

I REALLY like the deal for New Orleans. Getting Withey makes it even better.

Lopez getting traded again. Lol he's gonna keep getting moved around his whole career I bet.

And people thought that he became so good and everything after the Hornets got him...the Hornets who don't have any good proven Cs on their roster now just traded Lopez away that should explain how much he still sucks.

I don't think the Hornets wanted to get rid of him. For some strange reason they lusted after Tyreke Evans, who is the guy they essentially traded him for. They also traded Noel for Jrue Holliday as soon as they drafted him so it seems they have a different plan now. The did get the rights to Withey, a C that Portland drafted in the second round so they are not swearing off centers entirely.

He probably broke too many of their glass doors.

I liked Withey as a backup center in the draft. My hope was the Suns might get another second round pick and select him. He is solid but not starter material although I like Withey better than Robin Lopez starting their careers. Withey seems to have abetter understanding of the game and understands what he can or cannot do.

The Warriors have agreed to a trade with the Utah Jazz exchanging Richard Jefferson and Andris Biedrins for a currently unknown package, according to multiple reports.

Minutes after that news broke so did word that Andre Iguodala would sign with the Warriors for four years, $48 million.

Warriors just dumped Biedrins and Jefferson....and then instead of Dwight, they signed Igoudala

If Dwight goes to Houston, then GSW is gonna need a durable C on a cheap deal...maybe we can push them to a Barnes + Bogut for Gortat deal?

GSW would have Barnes coming off the bench anyway after they signed Igoudala.

I was hoping they'd pick him at 30 but I suspect Goodwin was probably the better choice - he's so young and rather shell shocked from his year at Kentucky so he won't likely go off and ruin our draft pick for next year yet has good potential. I'd sign up for your idea of acquiring another pick to nab Withey or someone similar. My thought was to load up on bigs that were at least decent defenders since this draft had lots of them and they're usually a rare commodity. Three of them from the draft plus Thomas Robinson from Houston seemed about right. Shed Gortat and Scola and spend the season running a training camp for our stockpiled young bigs which would put us near the top of the lottery in a year with much talent at the top.

Houston traded Royce White to the Philadelphia 76ers for future Draft considerations

I can't believe they found someone willing to trade for this headcase. It's not just his fear of aeroplanes (altough that's a huge issue), it's that he is an egocentric douche, and you can easily figure that out just by reading this guys tweets or videos he posts. He's the kind of guy that would rather take his huge paycheck for nothing, than do anything to try to solve his problems. I mean, dissing on Kevin Durant during the playoffs for example (so you make fun of one of the best players in the league, while refusing to play NBA games when you could have). He is fighting a cause, but for all the wrong reasons. I say he plays very little or none games next season.

"Future considerations"= Get him off our roster, we've had enough of his crap and will take anything to move him.

Sports Whispers (@SportsWhispers) Celtics were in discussions with the Suns about a trade that would send Gerald Wallace to Phoenix for a combination of Beasley, Frye & Scola
.

That would be awful. Wallace is not what we need, especially at $10M per year for the next three years. Beasley can be bought out after this year, I am sure Scola can be traded without taking much in return, and we don't know if Frye is ever going to play again.

Well if Frye can play, it would actually save the Suns considerable money for the next two seasons even if the Suns buy out Beasley next season. The third year of Wallace's contract would be the concern although he would be a $10M expiring contract then. Also the Suns save would save money on the Wallace trade the next two seasons which would help.

A concern is Wallace will be 31 on July 23rd.

Also, does Scola have trade value?

It would certainly clean up the Suns roster.

Scola definitely has positive trade value. In a time where guys like Landry, Hickson, Pachulia, Wright are all getting overpaid, Scola is a bargain for a big man.

If paying Hickson 5 mil a year is "overpaid" then Scola is committing grand larceny. Hickson's deal is a bargain, I'd swap him for Scola in a heartbeat.

And the Celtics "rumor" is BG. I have a hard time buying that "@sportswhispers" is going to break any NBA news.

Beasley can be bought out next season and Scola can probably be traded for a late first round pick or some 2nd rd picks or something. We shouldn't have to "dump" him, I think we can get some sort of trade value back for him. He still has a pretty attractive contract for a team that's looking to contend for post season and needs depth.

So then it comes down to Frye or Wallace and I honestly would rather have Frye at his current contract than Wallace at his.

My guess on what probably happened is that Ainge probably tried to call in a favor to his old friend McDonough by giving him this crap offer and McDonough said no thank you. You gotta give Ainge props for trying :D

I think its more likely that @sportswhispers has as much inside info as my dog and just reports drivel he reads on message boards.

Well, since they're just whispers, maybe he just doesn't hear them quite right. Kind of like the telephone game.

If the Suns had a first round pick coming back, the "whispers" makes a lot more sense.
