This thread should be amended to Attention Shaun King fan. The majority of McCown bashers (such as myself) never thought King was the answer either. This_Guy was one of the very few, if not the only one, who insisted that King was the savior at the QB position. The reality is that we have 3 QBs on the roster and none of them are any good and I've been saying this for weeks which is why I've been bringing up collegiate QBs in draft discussions.

What I think is hilarious, is the fact that McCown apologists can make up every excuse under the sun as to why McCown played poorly, but blast everything that King does. King certainly didn't have a great game, but he moved the ball quite nicely. Sure, he threw too many picks, but he also took advantage of our biggest weapons, and actually threw to Boldin and Fitzgerald. It's easy to never throw a pick, like McCown, because he never attempts to stretch the field. That is why he also ends up with 90 yards passing in certain games. If King could limit the mistakes, which is the big question, he is a good quarterback. His career stats point to this.
The Cardinals got screwed on a couple of penalties, made a ton of mistakes, and the defense was horrendous. This was a total team meltdown, and all of you singling out King for this debacle, look at the defense, who gave up six yards a carry, and three td's to a converted FB, that was 6th on the depth chart to start the season. The defense has played great this year, today they were terrible.

Speaking of this guy... I think the fact he has been strangely silent even as to crowing about King starting might mean that he is in fact Shaun King and was unable to post because they are on the road.

HMMMMM

Here is the reality...

Neither McCown or King are decent starting QBs.

I have said all along...Yeah McCown sucks but there is a reason King is the backup...the coach must think he sucks even more. Today verified what has long been my suspicion.

Our point was that these were legitimate reasons why this offense sucks and this game proved them correct. Those against McCown were blaming him for everything under the sun for what was wrong with this team and a QB change would make all the difference in the world ... WRONG.

This offense has been a mess for a while and if we don't fix the problems any QB you put back there isn't going to make much of a difference.

Calm down everyboady. You guys are a joke. It was one game and the first time he has ever played with this group in a game situation. You guys are ridiculous.

Well if it's about moving the ball nicely versus wins then I guess I do not understand.......King lost more fumbles and threw almost as many INT's as McCown has ALL YEAR......in ONE FU******game.

My point is, everybody is so quick to run to judgement about King, saying he is turnover prone, blah blah blah. It's just funny to me, because these are the same people who have seen Shaun King play ONE GAME with the Cardinals in a week where nobody thought he was the starter. The same people who are begging others not to jump to conclusions, even though he has made little progress the entire season. Sure, King made some mistakes, but my point is, at least he threw the ball down the field. Give him a week's worth of practice, and see what he can do next week. Is nobody else going to call out the defense for this "performance"? It was terrible.

Please...professional athletes are paid a lot of money to have their performance scrutanized. You are expected to perform at a high level and if you don't you are rightfully subject to criticism...no matter if your name is King or McCown or Stepanovich.

Good points spanky, this game was all King's fault, excellent analysis.

I agree it was one game but it was one hell of a horrific game. There is no reason why any QB should have 5 fumbles and 3 INTs in one game ... NONE

Spanky, curb the cursing or take a break. Changing letters or starring out letters does not excuse it. This is board policy.

A play-off qualified moderator would have banned him without the warning!

If you didn't it's not really board policy....it's yours.

Agreed the D stunk and the Oline was once again miserable. I've told people on here before I blame everyone for a loss and give praise to everybody during a win.

There was no one worthy of praise for this debacle.

BTW This was more started by threads where people put the blame on players and all of the anti-josh people wouldn't even criticize Shaun King even though he directly lead to 21 of their points.

Does the defense deserve blame? The coaches? The Oline? The QB? The RB? The WRs? The answer is yes to all of them IMO

As a formally banned poster I am sure you are well aware of the policies. I suggest you drop whatever problem you think you have with me. Yes we are aware.

Well now we need to define how much time a QB gets.

We are by and large reasonable people so how long does he get? I ask because some of us used to say that owing to the awful nature of the beast they are charged with directing that maybe it isn't necessarily only the QB's fault.

I have no doubt King will do better that's a given if he want's to stay in the NFL, the question is will he ever do as well as Josh with this group.
