Wasn't there a Flash Gordon cartoon based on the movie in the early 80's?

How 'bout "Thundar: The Barbarian."

Awesome. I remember watching it and judging from wikipedia, it came out when I was 5.

Ookla the Mok was bomb.

Check out the intro;

The year: 1994. From out of space comes a runaway planet, hurtling between the Earth and the Moon, unleashing cosmic destruction! Man's civilization is cast in ruin!
Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn...
A strange new world rises from the old: a world of savagery, super science, and sorcery. But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice! With his companions Ookla the Mok and Princess Ariel, he pits his strength, his courage, and his fabulous Sunsword against the forces of evil.
He is Thundarr, the Barbarian!

No Thundercat love?

waiting to see how badly they bomb the movie..

Transformers was more than I could have ever expected. Can't imagine that they do as well with it.

I can't believe no has mentioned The Snorks.

You know you all watched it.

But for me the best kids show ever was Fraggle Rock. I know it's not a cartoon but it was the bomb.

When I was a kid, that Electric Company theme also sent me to the funny farm. That part where Rita Moreno says, "Hey You Guyyyyyyyyyys!" -- haunted my nightmares. Couldn't get it out of my head.

Same goes for the Hare Bear Bunch. My mom bought me the "single" of the song. It would make me violent.

One banana two banana three banana four.

Oh man. The Banana Splits. I actually worked security for them when they did a live show in South Florida @ the Hollywood Sportatorium. That may have been one of the more demeaning jobs I ever had. It was my job to pick them up at Miami International Airport and deliver them to the event in an ambulance with the siren blaring. Figure that one out. I was told that if any of the adoring kids got too frisky with the Splits to do a " security thing" on them. Right. Beat up 8 year old kids. BTW, the people inside those big hairy costumes stunk so bad with sweat, it was vomit inducing.
