The off-season has been giving me a cardiac problems lately. The Suns seem to be in every rumor out there - the good ones and the BAD ones. From the current standpoint it seems unlikely that we can get the "BIG THREE" (TMAC, KOBE & SHAQ) anymore. So if we can't get them, which superstar will you clamor for the front office to target? I just heard Bryan Colangelo saying that even if we can't get one of the BIG 3, we'll still be a player all summer long because of our cap flexibility. Here are the player's I would like the Suns to pursue if they can't land the BIG 3:

1. Paul Pierce
2. Ray Allen

Paul Pierce - One of you guys mentioned that he is Kobe "lite". That's an accurate metaphor. I believe that PP can play the role of superstar shooting guard very well. Besides he doesn't have some of Kobe's unsavory characteristics like the rape trial. I also think that he is much less of a ball-hog than Kobe, so he can blend in better with the team. Amare and Pierce would make a pretty scary core. Now the problem is how to dupe Ainge in giving him up. Maybe a combination of Marion, Jacobsen, and Next Year's Pick???

Ray Allen - Here's another guy I would love the Suns to have. A pure shooter who can open up the inside for Amare. Personality wise, he'd be perfect for the team as he isn't very vocal. He's also being dangled by Seattle lately because he's a free agent after next season. I believe that he could be easier to acquire than Pierce though as he is already on the block. Marion and Jacobsen for him???

personally i like the idea of ray allen. i think he fits this team better then tmac and/or kobe. allen would help match up with amare to open up the middle.

my really problem is that i dont think that shooting guard is this teams problem. i think that we need to do everything in our power to get some rebouding and shot blocking out of the middle.

I like the idea of Ray Allen. Would he be a health risk though? I'm do not even know if he was injured at all last year, but something is telling me in the back of my head that he was (and for a good amount of time).

My other picks would be:
Barry
Dampier

I really could care less if the Suns didn't land any of the big three. Detroit really opened my eyes this year, showing that the right pieces to the puzzle is what makes the difference, and not a star studded packed team that can not gel.

If the Suns get a couple of hustle players and maybe make one good trade, the city will back this team. I know that Bo Outlaw was not a scoring machine, and the city pulled and cheered for him every night.

Ray Allen had a broken ankle. I haven't heard any problems about how it healed, and usually a broken bone isn't a recurring injury issue.

I would not consider Allen a health risk.

I think Pierce is a much better defender than Allen.

Ray Allen already turns 29 next month and is FA in 2005. He will look for a big last contract. No thanks.

Thank you.... Barry & Dampier would be IDEAL! without killing the cap.
