Am I the only one annoyed by Reid's agent?

It has become pretty clear that when you connect the dots, Reid's agent has been leaking all sorts of B.S. to the media especially Jason Lacanfora. 24 hours ago Twitter it buzzing with news that Andy Reid and Heckert is a done deal. Lacanfora says it's 95% done, Tim Ring, Mike Jurecki, all reporting it. At the time I was like get real, this goes against everything Bidwill said the day before.

Somers started questioning it, then Mark Dalton pretty much shot the whole idea down. Hours later it was pretty much dead.

Then comes the meeting with KC that supposedly went really well. Reports are saying that Pioli would be out because Heckert would be in. One problem is that Pioli was interviewing Reid. Remember, last night reports were that Reid was meeting AZ on Wednesday even though the Cardinals were telling everyone it was Wednesday which prompted Jason Cole from Yahoo to connect the dots that Reid and Co was using AZ to bargain with KC. Sure enough KC flew to Philly today to meet with Reid, one can assume so they could get in front of Reid before he signed the "done deal" in AZ.

It's pretty obvious his agent has driven the buzz the last two days. If it was me doing the hiring, this crap wouldn't fly. I get maybe it is a part of the business, but it appears that AZ is being used again. Part of me would laugh if Horton signed his deal as Reid was on the cross country flight. Horton has been all class so far and it appears the Cards have been honest and straight forward as well. It is also obvious the guy representing Reid has not. To me that counts for something.

I think Horton is the guy with both Horton and The Cardinals doing the due diligence. It is annoying that his agent is doing this, but it's all about the $$$

Well, you have to admit -- he is doing his job for his client

There's certainly a chance you can peg this on Reid's agent, but it's far from confirmed. I'm more frustrated with Tim Ring's early report out of nowhere that seems to have sparked the fire across the nation about it being a done deal. Everyone needed to cool their jets on the reports.

Where I don't agree is that Reid is using AZ for leverage against Kansas City. In fact, I think it's the exact opposite. Their roster is in shambles, and we have more to offer here. It wouldn't be a surprise that they leveraged KC against us with this long interview to make us sweat. The media and fan pressure was on yesterday, and now Mike Bidwill is in a scenario where he may have to pay more than expected to obtain Reid.

One thing that does worry me about it all is that we can likely not lock down Mike McCoy until the end of the Broncos' postseason run, and we may spend weeks "doing our due diligence" until we've lost not only Reid, but Horton as well. We might end up with a lower tier coach if that happens.

Only if he gets his clients signed where they want and for the right money. His Heckert move hasn't worked so far in KC or AZ. It just seems that he is going to the extreme. I credit the Cardinals for looking like they haven't got caught up in the hype.

Actually, if Reid is looking to rebuild a franchise like he did in Philly, KC is the right fit. Nowhere to go but up there.

The local KPHO is the one that stated it done deal style yesterday too. :D Than today they never mentioned it, just talked about Horton's second interview.

The KPHO article that said "Cardinals name Reid as HC" was embarrassing for KPHO.

This is why you wait for a credible source to break the story. Tim Ring is a very small player in the PHX sports market.

People outside of Phoenix barely know who Tim Ring is. I'm only aware of his existence living in LA because he gets retweeted on Twitter every now and again. I admire his courage for attempting to break a story with little substantiated information available, but he may have shot himself in the foot this time.

If you've learned anything from the Peyton Manning fiasco; it is wait for the team to announce the signing before believing anything.

Re: Heckert - Worth noting that, according to Twitter, it's KC President Mark Donovan who is conducting the H-C search and interviews, not Pioli.

No proof, but that's what I think's been going down.
