With Warner gone, it was time to blow things up a bit for the long haul. We are now poised to compete....long term with a possibility still if a few things fall our way to be a winning team presently.
Am I the only one excitied about the future of this team?

And I guess not having a quality OLB, only 1 legit CB on the roster & trash for depth at DB had nothing to do with the defense either?
Rolle is average & still learning but the Dansby situation aggravates me.

Everyone said the same thing in 99....LArry Centers was old and he just took a RB spot. Lomas Brown was ancient.....etc etc. I dont care how you sugar coat it. 2 years ago this team went to the SuperBowl and this year beat a very good GB team. And we have just lost almost 25% of the starting lineup with really nothing to show for it. Other teams have always and I mean ALWAYS taken our talent and won with it. To many players to name. It is no different now. Dansby is a Top Notch LB. Rolle was a TD waiting to happen every time he got the ball. Q was and always will be the soul of this team. And he was shafted. Fitz is great but Boldin was here first and there Career stats are almost identical. I would be mad if I was him too. Warner saw it all coming to an end and decided to bolt.
You can't paint a turd. But unless something drastic happens. We are 3rd best in the West. To many things MUST happen for us to win 10 games. Lienart now is just a small piece of the equation. 4 weeks ago he was the main question mark! Now he looks like a positive. That is scary!

I agree 100% with PACardsfan, but that is funny as hell.
Sheesh!!! I never seen so many guys having the wrong time of the month at the same time.
CT, you aren't the only one excited about this team. If we don't replace Dansby and Rolle with like players, I do believe we will get some compensation picks (third round?). We'll get to find out just how good our scouts really are.

You and I haven't seen eye to eye lately but I was going to post this exact thing. We would get older but we'd plug some holes. Is this scenario a long shot, yes but Clark, Porter & Foote all played for PIT when Whiz was there so we could have a shot. Witherspoon would be a great addition if he's healthy.

Ok so heres how i see it, the seahags could be much better esp if they add marshall, and we have already proven we have a problem with the niners, i could def see this team being third in the division with the seahags reclaiming the division.

I usually don't post because what I want to say has already been stated much better than I could do.
I'm not going to lie. The loss of Q hurts. I have a framed autographed jersey in my family room that has been my pride and joy since the day I hung it up. Tomorrow it will come down, go in my closet, and most likely stay there for quite awhile. When I lived in PHX, I was a season ticket holder, a south endzoner at SDS and Q made going to the games worth the price of the tickets. He will be missed.
As for the other 2, Dansby & Rolle. Well, they were on a defense that gave up an NFL Playoff record 90 points.
Antrel Rolle is the highest paid safety in NFL history... Let me repeat that,
Antrel Rolle is the highest paid safety in NFL history. Many of you who are complaining about losing him would be complaining just as much if the Cards had signed him to the same contract.
Let's not forget about just how well some of the young guys have stepped up. Breaston for Bryant Johnson, Calais for Antonio, Beanie for Edge, etc.
Now, I don't know about you, but I'm going to take the wait and see approach before I go jumping off the bridge. I trust the coach who took us to the Super Bowl a whole lot more than the players who couldn't win until the coach who took us to the Super Bowl showed up.
