You're right. The crowd has absolutely no outcome on the game.

Were not talking about the game here.. We are talking about a kicker getting cut on a Tuesday.. Is it really that hard to understand?

If anyone even thinks it played any part in it, we should fire Whis immediately.. No coach should be waivered by crowd response in any way.. I personally think the booing had nothing to do with it.. Heck, Whis might have been booing too.. Barr just sucked and was cut.. Done deal..

I am talking about your above quote, which has NOTHING to do with the game or the kicker..

Is it really that hard to understand?

Gee, you just said.

If you would have said roster positions and cuts, I would have agreed with you. You didn't say that, you said any way. If crowd response doesn't make a difference, why does our coach bring up crowd noise, and how loud they have been for most of the games?

I said it helped.
I think your totally wrong.

If you believe that Whisenhunt would be influenced to cut a player because of that player being booed then you must assume that he isn't qualified to coach a Pop Warner team. Because any coach that would respond in that fashion to the crowd, or parents as the case may be, shouldn't be coaching at all.

Barr was cut because he was sucking bad. He's release was in no way related to the fan's booing him. It's obtuse to believe otherwise.

That's ok if you think that I am wrong.

Actually, I do see quite a few flaws in Whisenhunt's coaching. He is still the best coach that we have had in quite a while.

I can see the linear logic that him being boo'd by the fans, because he sucked, which led to him being cut. That's all I am trying to say.

I will not be booing Rackers or any other of the players.Except for the Browns.
Regarding the chorus of boos which inevitably greets the opponent of the home team: My opinion is that if anything (and it's likely nothing) this serves to boost their incentive.

I think a deadening silence would be more of a statement.

i wish if i constantly screwed up a portion of my job at the most crucial moments i could count on people arguing whether i should be booed or not instead of actually getting fired.

problem is . . . i'm competent (really much more than that) at my job, so i don't have to really contemplate this question . . .

i say a bronx cheer is appropriate for a made fg in midgame.

and i boo my team relentlessly. i guess that's just a residual from having spent a lot of my formative years in real wickedly passionate football cities in the northeast. you let your team know how they're doing in regards to your expectations, whether good or bad.

Never

I never boo Cardinals for trying hard and failing.

I boo the opposing team.

I boo the refs.

I will even boo stupidity now and then.

During a game, the Cardinals get cheers and screaming and whatever else they need. I have coached baseball a number of years, and I would never play a player who booed a teammate. I'm the 12th man, I can't go out booing my teammates.

Nice use of the word "obtuse". I haven't heard that used in a sentence since 8th grade geometry.

You don't boo your own team. If you're a real sincere fan, you accept them for who they are, good or bad. Cheer them when they do well, support and encourage when they make mistakes--believe it or not, they're not failing on purpose.

Besides, why waste your energy and voice on a kicker.

No one has been a bigger critic of Rackers than I have, but I'm not the booing type. Instead, I unleash vulgarity that has only been heard by the closest of friends & family (just ask my son). Booing is way too mild of a protest. Unless Rackers wins at least 2 games for us down the stretch & makes 95% of his attempts, he will be gone after the season. I have absolutely no confidence in the guy, especially late in the 4th qtr., but I won't root against him. I WILL be pissed off though if he continues to be a Cardinal after the season.

this week when he attempts a FG. We have to remember he did make the first and the second that should have been made just missed. I still like the deep kickoffs Rackers is able to get. Before we had him you had to hold your breath everytime we had a kick off and was returned for usually great field position.

I am also very disappointed with the miss, but there several other mistakes that cost us this game. Giving up over 30 points to SF was hard to take by itself.

No booing from me. He missed a FG and a bunch of other guys did a lot of bad things. We could boo the entire team and coach if we want to go that route. Booing does not help your team win. Very much the contrary. If you want to boo you have the right but to what end?

I still remember the classless cheering when our starting QB went down and lay injured on the ground. Our local hero QB came into the game.
