While I appreciate his desire to be good, can someone pull this idiot aside and tell him you have to do more than just 'want' something in order to achieve it. You have to pursue it with all your faculties. If he thinks that his 'offensive' skills will get him into the HOF... without Steve Nash... he is crazy. Does he work on defense? How much effort does he put in to becoming a better rebounder? The proof is in the pudding.

"This may be my last year in Phoenix" is a pretty innocuous statement, also accurate. I don't see how him saying what everyone knows to be at least possible is very noteworthy..

And the guy is delusional when it comes to statements about himself and his abilities in the media, what else is new. I'll reserve judgment on this particular comment, because the quote provided doesn't show the context.. since he was talking to a bunch of kids, it seems kind of obvious to me like those two questions were used to set up a motivational speech. You know, "play every moment like it's your last cause you never know if it might be." Which he doesn't, but whatever..

Hell, just read the underlying tones of ANYTHING that comes out of Lebron's mouth and it's almost disgusting, the amount of arrogance that guy has. It's a lot easier to like athletes if you don't take anything they say too seriously.

More on his trip to the school. I think you hit the nail on the head, sure Amare can be insufferable with his ego and his nonchalance on D, but his heart is obviously in the right place with the kids, and I really believe it'll be a mistake if we let him go this offseason.

So, can someone who already considers himself as a "bigtime superstar athlete" can ever acknowledge flaws in his game in order to improve on them? Can he be open to constructive criticism from the coaching staff or does his ego get bruised too easily? I think after all these years we probably know the answer to these questions. The problem with Amare is that the combination of his ego and low intelligence will prevent him from ever truly realizing his potential. I am glad that he seems motivated again, whatever the reason, but motivation has only gotten him this far. He needs to critically assess his game and its weaknesses and correct them before he can take a team to the next level.

Well maybe if Amare takes us deep in the playoffs with this team he can start talking, but as of right now he has really done nothing that special in the nba expect talking about how much is game is improving in the offseason. I hope Amare does very well this season and convinces suns fans and the suns that he needs to be signed long term. Only time will tell prove it this year Amare.

Narcissistic?? Dont you think he is saying this because of the eye injury. C'mon cut the dude some slack. Did Jordan have two possible career ending injuries?
Yes, he does shoot off his mouth without thinking, but he is still a major piece on this team and with that kind of responsibility coupled with his injuries, he needs to BELIEVE in himself that he's still got it and be a force on the court.
We need to accept the fact that he will probably always be a sub-par defender a slight flaw that becomes much more glaring when you are surrounded by team mates who are worse defensively and trained (for most of his nba career) by a coach who is "all offense".

I hope he comes back fully healed and make this a fun season
