"Recent flareup at Suns practice started when Stoudemire and rookie Maciej Lampe went face-to-face and ended with Stoudemire taking an open-handed swipe at Lampe and connecting to the ex-Knick's face. "Amare's crazy," noted one teammate. Lampe, meanwhile, scored points with teammates for not backing down." New York Daily News

In all honesty Amare kinda seems like a punk. Im not saying that's a bad thing...we havent had someone with his type of attitute since, well, Barkley.

And last night Amare scowled at Lampe when he screwed up a play. No love lost I guess.

I wonder why it is always New York newspapers that break those Suns stories and have Suns players' quotes...

In any case it's no big deal to me.

Lampe probably did something to frustrate Amare in practice and Amare bitch slapped him. Probably played dirty or something.

It is not like he hit him with the fist in the face just made sure the young gun knew what he was doing there.

Saw that kind of things happening several times in soccer practices of on of the top5 soccer teams in the world between guys who were supposed to be not only some of the best ever also some of the great leaders of their teams.

And of course it might not even be intentional. Lampe might have just showed the ball when he faced up and Amare took a swipe at the ball and hit Lampe.

Amare doesn't seem like a punk or immature. In fact I thought he said and did all the right things that leaders do.

No, I posted the third reply about an hour later.

Also I Amare bitch slapped Gasol in the last game against the Grizzlies unintentionally and was coming over to Gasol right away and say sorry etc.

That's a fallacy. New York media always stirs the sh$#storm--it's not like their team is any good--they gotta get their jollys SOMEwhere. :p

I just seen them both at AWA for the celebrity BBall game. Everything looked fine. Plus there was a halfcourt shot contest, JJ hit his 1st try..swish!

That would be my guess.

Another spin is that the only players that can cause that kind of reaction are ones that are playing tough defense. Considering the reputation most Euro big guys have of being soft, this could be a real positive sign about Lampe.

The TV guys said that Lampe has been mixing it up with White in practice. One of the most positive sign about Amare when he first started was that he has a "nasty streak" that meant he would never back down. If Lampe has the same tendency, this could be an incredible front court.

Lampe looks like a prick, I would slap him on principle....slinslin likes him too, which doesn't help his case
