He has always had the me against the world attitude. It just manifests itself into complaining about trivial things. Apparently, scoring 25 and grabing 10 boards a night isn't enough for him.

Thanks for dropping by to add this. Again, there is nothing to see here.

You guys surprisingly assume I am talking just about his latest feeling unappreciated. Before you know it he will be just like Marion just shut up and play ball. No I was not drunk its just WAY WAY to early in the season for ANYONE to feel underappreciated and talking to any reporters about it. Amare is all about himself he needs to be all about the team and basketball and he might end up earning some attention..

Almost positive this is what he said.

The NBA is growing up, buoyed by a new cluster of marquee stars. Kobe Bryant is the MVP, Dwyane Wade is the comeback kid, Chris Paul is the point guard for a new generation, Dwight Howard is Superman II, and LeBron James is about to take over the world.
As you might imagine, there's a guy in Phoenix feeling a little left out.
"They're definitely sleeping on me," Suns star Amaré Stoudemire said. "But that's nothing new, and I like it like this. I get to creep up on them and hit them when they're not expecting it."

So once again, silly Suns fans make something out of nothing. It's sickening to see how much they respect our best player compared to Nash and Shaq.

Does Amare have a nickname besides STAT?

I think he should get a new one especially with the way he dunks hard on everybody.

I call him "Black Jesus" because of the tattoo on his neck... dont know how that would be accepted.

That's exactly what I was thinking!

This is just a team where there isn't much room for egos. There are 3 superstars, and a couple of roll guys like Barnes and Raja who are loved because they work their butts off! I find even myself paying less attention to Amare now that Shaq, Hill, and Barnes are here. Just a lot of fun players to watch. Deal with it STAT!

Thats because Nash, Shaq, and Hill are veterans and should be captains maybe it will make Amare step up and become a leader instead of an egotistical mouthpiece like years past.

Jeez... this doesn't even have anything to do with who was selected/voted team captain. It'a about the NBA, all the attention other stars are getting and their not promoting Amare. He didn't say anything about the Suns. Man... something out of nothing.

One of the biggest reasons I like Amare is because of his attitude. He has an ego and he knows it and basically isn't afraid to let everyone else know it. He rubs so many people the wrong way, maybe they would like him a lot better if he came into the league with Diaw's personality. A nice guy, non-abrasive type. Wonder what kind of player that person would be, eh?

Sounds a lot like he might be a two-time MVP.

This is basketball, not golf. If you have a bruising monster of a power forward, who wouldn't want a little chip on his shoulder? Better than being soft.

Obviously Amare doesn't have Nash's skill set to succeed with, come on now. Or Boris' for that matter. Besides that, I probably used the wrong terms there. I should have said "passive personality", because while Nash is a nice guy type off the floor and is very PC, he definitely has a major mean streak to him that manifests on the court.

Agreed on both points. A "passive personality" can be a disadvantage in any competitive sport, and that includes golf. Still, a player with a real chip on his shoulder and a 'major mean streak' would make himself much more intimidating to opponents if he relied on reputation rather than rhetoric--quiet and deadly is a lot scarier than a big ego. All that continual self-praise makes Amare sound like he's trying to convince himself, and maybe it is a means of self-motivation but it isn't exactly impressive. Chances are his new mentor's been coaching him in interview techniques.

Also sounds like what many consider the greatest PF of all time, Tim Duncan. I dont think I've ever heard TD called soft.

Tim Duncan is a great player no doubt. He must have a huge fire inside. However, I think what baffles some fans is he looks so stoic when he plays... at least until he is fouled.

TD never commits a foul. :D

Moses malone was also like TD, a big fire inside. Its the fire inside that matters, not the one on the outside. Talk is cheap, action gets things done.

If Amare is PO'ed about something, I think 49 points on 17 of 21 plus 15 of 15 from the line plus 11 boards is a nice response.
