You can say what you want about Amare's offensive game, his rebounding deficiencies or what have you, but you can't say a single bad thing about how he's conducted himself amidst all those trade rumors this year as well as how he's handled FA.

Class Act.

Good luck Amare, he is still going to be one of my favorite players. I thought both sides have been very classy with all the process.
Sarver's letter few days ago to Amare:

On behalf of the entire Suns organization I want to thank you, Amar’e, for eight special years as a Phoenix Sun. We couldn’t have achieved all our success without you. We wish you nothing but the best in the next chapter of your basketball life with the New York Knicks. We look forward to being able to honor you in some way in the future….. maybe in the Suns Ring of Honor.

I wonder who paid for it?

Nah, just kidding, Stoudemire's a good guy. He's done admirably considering the hand he was dealt.

This is how LeBron should have handled himself.

Wade, Lebron, Bosh and some others (not Amare) should have been on TV together telling Stern how they are going to run the league. :lmao:

Great job by Amare by hiring the right agent to get him a max deal, even though he didn't deserve one.

Great job by Amare by hiring the right publicist to write these nice words for his signature and to get it in the paper for him.

Now if he could only hire someone to rebound for him...

I don't blame him though, I would have done the same thing. Winning is overrated anyway....

Amare's cool....

Are you feeling a bit half-hearted today? If I'm ever in need of a compliment I know where not to go.:)

Not at all. I just doubt that Amare had much to do with this ad in the paper. Pretty sure his people looking out for him came up with the idea, drafted it, made the arrangements, took out the ad, expensed it, and then told Amare in passing what they did so he wouldn't get blindsided if somebody said something about it to him.

It's a pretty standard business practice. It buys him extra class and ensures that no bridges get burned. And maybe a few extra folks will decide to go eat at Stoudemire's downtown.

BTW, Steve...you're a great guy and a classy poster. You can come to me for a compliment any day. You don't need to take an ad out in the paper for it...

I agree with everything except I don't think it would have occurred without Amare's support. Clearly, Amare did not write that letter.

Thanks for the kind words. How much do I owe you?

Umm,, i wonder if you are number 3 here http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb...s-basketball-fans-on-the-internet-154739.html :D

Seriously though, he gets A for efforts (or maybe his agents). I have seen so many players leave a team they've being with for years without acknowledging the fans part in their success. So if it is an employed publicist or PR, another A for providing employment/income to someone in this hard times

Standard business practice? I thought LBJ set that standard in the NBA, not? After all, he is considered one of the only two who deserve a max contract.

In a van...down by the river.
Amare conducted himself well on and off the court as a member of the SUNS(and yes, that includes the S.A. Nash hip-check game ;)).....his knee injuries and freak incident eye injury was unfortunate, but he was an offensive force to be reckoned with night in and night out.

He spoke alot about getting better every year(with mixed results),but the fact is that despite his self-enamorous talk.....he DID work hard to rehab, develope a jumpshot and progress as an offensive player in this league. I think we can all agree that had his knees not failed him he could've become something much more in terms of being one of the most offensively dominating PF's in recent memory.

Classy gesture on Amare's part to say thank you to the fans that supported him through the thick and thin of his career here in PHX.
Kudos and good luck Amare''''''''''''''''''''''''''''.

Very classy.....

IMO though... He has no place in the Suns ring of Honor. Not unlessd he comes back and does some special things.

I look at who else is up there and could certainly see him deserving of it. We're not the Lakers, the Bulls or the Celtics. Our successes through the years, such as they have been, are routinely honored by the organization and he's had a pivotal role in much of our recent success. With players such as Connie Hawkins, Dan Majerle and Tom Chambers it would be difficult to not include Amare. Of course, it would be impossible to not include Nash when he retires.
