AKRON - The NBA’s top young stars along with other sports and entertainment celebrities will participate in LeBron James’ King for Kids Bikeathon on June 24.

All-Stars Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards, along with 2006 NBA Rookie of the Year Chris Paul of the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, will ride with James. Other invitees include Phoenix Suns All-Star Amare Stoudemire, Hornets guard J.R. Smith, Oakland Raiders All-Pro Randy Moss, and Reuben Droughns and Braylon Edwards of the Cleveland Browns.

Cavaliers Head Coach Mike Brown and Cavs players Larry Hughes, Eric Snow, Drew Gooden, Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones also are expected to attend.

The first 3,000 registered riders ages 8 and over (youths 8-12 must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or over) will join James and the NBA stars and celebrities on an eight-mile ride from downtown Akron throughout the city and back. For kids under 12, there is a modified three-mile “Family Friendly Route.”

The event begins at 11 a.m. Following the ride, there will be a community celebration in Lock 3 park downtown that is open to the public.

Any interested riders can complete a registration form at a FirstMerit Bank branch in Summit County and pay their fee directly at the bank. The registration cost is $25 for individuals and $75 for a family (up to six).

Riders will receive a pledge pack, including pledge form, pledge envelope, rider waiver form and rider handbook. All registered riders will receive “King for Kids” t-shirts, which must be worn to ride at the event. To receive additional prizes, a minimum of $100 in pledges must be raised. All riders are also required to wear bike helmets.

I can't tell from the text but are you being sarcastic. If not, riding a bike is rehabilitating to knee injuries because it's considered a low impact cardio workout. So really, he is working. Another thing is it said he was invited, it didn't say anything about him actually attending.
