If anyone at the start of the season said that the Suns would win the Pacific Division, have a shot at the best record in the NBA, and have a legitimate shot at setting a team record for wins (63) - they'd be be laughted off the board. Yet not only have they done it, the Suns have played well even with Amare sidelined.

Amazing doesn't even start to describe how extraordinary this performance has been. Oddly enough there has been another amazing feat that has gone unnoticed. Only twice have the Suns lost more than one game in a row. In November they lost that game in Cleveland and then lost a tight game to the Kings. In January the Suns lost 6 in a row that included 4 games without Nash.

Since acquiring Jimmy Jackson, the Suns have lost only 7 of 30 games played (winning 77%) and never two in a row. This ability to avoid losing streaks is a huge part of why the team is doing well. But it may prove to be even more important in playoffs, because the Suns have proven that they can quickly bounce back from bad games.

I called the Pacific Division title (with ease) before the season began. Of course, I said that it would be from the Kings loosing a lot of steam - not the Suns having the best record in the league.

Congratulations on the call. I thought I was an optimist when I said 50 wins.

What's crazy is the Suns did this without Channing Frye or Ike Diogu.

I admit I laughed at those who talked about a Pacific Division title. (By the way, where has slinslin been?) I was guessing mid-40s for a win total and a tough April on the playoff bubble. The chemistry has been great and small ball has been working just like you draw it up. The second quarter of tonight's game was great -- when the Suns go on a run of hitting their shots, you can just see the body language of the other team crumple.

Obligatory negative comment, for my demanding fans: They still haven't proved anything yet. The playoffs are a different game.

Or Mehmet Okur, rumored by every media pundit to be high on the Suns' wish list.

(Disclaimer: In the final analysis, it's possible Okur would have done quite well in Phoenix this season after all.)

I'd love to say I knew it would be this way all along... I knew it would be this way all along.

BRAVO SUNS! Way to get us back where we belong - in the elite of the NBA! Congrats to the Colangelos for making bold moves that most people(including me) didn't understand and questioned at the time. Keep on keeping on and let's get serious for our first run in 10 years at an... NBA TITLE!!!!!!

I didn't think there was any chance of Phoenix playing as well as they have.

They are playiong great basketball, but as Eric said- they haven't proven anything yet. Playoffs are a different ball game.

Thank God we didn't sign Okur. Waste of money. Q is the heart of this team. His threes are like daggers in the hearts of the other team's will.
