1. Arizona Cardinals: Every time I start to take you guys seriously, you let me down. At 2-2, I think you have the talent to make the playoffs, at least as a wild card. But historically, you can't stand prosperity, and you waste opportunities like this weekend. You're playing at St. Louis against the winless Rams, who are starting backup quarterback Gus Frerotte. I expect Ken Whisenhunt to stay with his two-quarterback system of Matt Leinart and Kurt Warner, because it's working. I know returning to St. Louis means a lot to Warner, who will be pumped. Do yourselves a favor, Cardinals. Get this win.

I am so excited, I think we should win this game. To me, this will show if this team can beat a team it is expected to beat. For four weeks in a row, the Cardinals have shown that they can compete with anyone they play...I want them to show that they can beat who they should beat. Our road record is historically bad and a win would be as great for my confidence as the team's.

Yeah...that's how I feel...but I think Whis has turned the corner for the team so all that's left is to see if the team is following him or not.

What?
I think that sums up all of our feelings.

Still need to lose the stigma of giving the freakin 40whiners their only two wins of the season and the debacle in Oakland last year.

For craps sake the only thing saving a team actually going 0-16 is us. Lets not participate in this crap any more. Win the damn games you should win!

Lots of things have changed.

Remember when we would hear,
"Thats 30 games in a row where the CArds have not scored a 1st quarter td."

or.............
"The Cards have not returned a punt for a td in 14 years."
" The are Cardinals rank 31st in the league in average yard per carry.

That has now been replaced with ........

The Cards have not allowed a 100 yd rusher in 9 straight games.

and............
The Cards are 3 1/2 pt. favorite on the road.

This is not the same mirage we've seen in the past. This team is playing fundamentaly sound football....not for 1 game or 1 half or 1 quarter, but every game this season.

This is a game good teams win. A way game against a weaker foe. This is also the game the Cardinals usually lose. When have the Cardinals followed an impressive win with another win?

The home team automatically gets 3 points so that means that on neutral ground the Cards are a 6 1/2 point favorite. :raccoon:

Agreed.

I am giddy about the possibility of being 3-2. I think I might have to take a trip to Vegas and lay some money down on the Cards in the post season. :)

I'm going to a sports bar Sunday to watch the game, and this bar has a heavy contingent of Rams fans (from what I can tell, mostly bandwagon leftovers). Should be fun.

I didn't know the Rams still had them.

This game is another potential positive step in defining ourselves - will we methodically put away a team we should beat? Or will we do what unsound, immature teams are inclined to do, let our guard down and get gashed?

Two opposite dangers:

1. Our players cut corners on technique in order to make big plays (because they think they can get away with it against banged up or weaker opponents). It backfires, and suddenly we're down by 14 - 21 points early in the game.

2. Everyone goes into a cocoon and plays it safe. Suddenly we find ourselves in a low scoring 3 point game late in the 4th quarter - where we're at the mercy of footballs that bounce funny, bizarre calls by referees or FG attempts that bounce off uprights.

The way to avoid the trap - Put our collective noses to the grindstone and play fundamentally sound "Cardinal Football" on every assignment, every down, every quarter etc. Then - if the pundits, media and injury reports are accurate - the W will take care of itself.
